Garden is starting to come in finally!

End of the smell

Rose has the house de-skunked including the back door that Hanna rubbed her face last weekend when she got a face-full of skunk, ugh.  Hannah after 2 baths can still be smelled.

Friday we missed the storm...Yay! We didn't get a lot of rain, mostly drizzled here, no high winds either, I'm OK with that.

Rose saw the Bobcat Friday afternoon, her and Zeb saw it trotting through the field out behind the house. Not our pic...

Lynx | Rewilding Europe

Saturday we drove by the pond and Rosie noticed it went down a couple of feet! Not good going into fall.  We drove down to New Boston center the Piscataqua river is all but a trickle in some spots... closer to downtown there was more water.  Glen Lake in Goffstown looked very low too, sandbars, rock ledges and trees grounded were visible.

We went down to Pepperell Saturday to see Rose's brother Jimmy, he's doing great after his stroke, he lost the use of his left arm, and vision in his left eye after his stroke. Both his arm and vision are back now, everything the stroke took away came back, Amazing!

Zeb with his Band-Aid...

Zeb got in to something on Tuesday morning and had a nice cut on his nose. Rose put a band-aid with Bacitracin on it. I can't believe he wore the band-aid all day.

We sat out at the fire pit the other night it was nice.

Hannah sitting on the hill waiting for a bunny to show up, she sits here almost every night waiting, she can't get to him though due to her radio collar. I think the bunny knows the dogs can't get to him and is just playing with her.

Gardens are coming in, let the fall games begin...  Yum, Black Krim, and Brandy-wine, tomatoes.  Mater sandwiches for lunch.  A single pepper, off of 6 plants are a little disappointing, more broccoli, and a couple cups of big blackberries. We left the Butternut squash and Acorn for now.  Rose saw a cantaloupe coming along too.

Blackbirds are starting to flock up, they are cleaning up out in the deer yard.

THIS POLITICAL MESS WE'RE IN...

Biden...   "Trump and the extreme MAGA Republicans have made their choice -- to go backwards full of anger, violence, hate and division, while Democrats have chosen to be a nation of unity and hope."    LOL, WOW!  What a loser... Blame republicans for what the Dem's are doing right in front of our eyes. We've never had a more divisive president! Yeah he's a uniter all right...

Nancy Pelosi confirmed last summer that ‘the president can’t do it — so that’s not even a discussion.’ She said, ‘Not everybody realizes that, but the president can only postpone, delay but not forgive.’ Biden’s response? A middle finger.” —Charles C.W. Cooke

$10,000 school loan paycheck,  According to Newsweek, Laffer estimated that “if everyone who qualified received the $10,000, it would cost $440 billion in a $22 trillion economy, or roughly 2 percent.” He said that 2 percent constitutes a “big number” in government spending. Laffer also explained that forgiving student loan debt could lead to less people working in an “already-scarce labor market.”

“What you’re doing is getting people out of the labor force not producing goods which will push prices up by itself… and expanding the quantity of money resources available will push prices up,” Laffer said. “More money and less goods—both of those combine to give higher inflation.”

White House refuses to say who will pay for Biden $500,000,000,000 student loan handout

Hot weekend 8/20

Hot weekend

Hummingbird are still here...

Blackberries are starting to ripen up

This Apple on the old Apple in the back yard has been hanging on, most of the leaves on the branch are dead but it's hanging on.

Grimes Golden, or maybe a Roxbury Russet, or could be Golden Delicious Apple

This is the best looking apple I saw the rest are pretty knarly looking

Hops growing up the old Apple out back, not as plentiful as last year, probably due to the heat, and moderate drought.

We took Mom & Dad and Jason up to the High Tide seafood restaurant up in Hillsborough, James is working there this summer.  Food was great. Not to crowded Sunday evening.

We got home just about dark, let the dogs out, and Hannah ran off, growling over to the side yard, she came running back a minute later when we got our first whiff of the noxious smell Hannah was sprayed by a skunk she was drooling and surfing through the grass trying desperately to get the smell/taste out of her mouth, the smell was really bad, thankfully somehow Zebulon wasn't with her or stayed back far enough to not get sprayed. Rose made up a Dawn, peroxide and baking soda concoction she'd read about online and we gave her a bath with that, it seemed to help cut the smell.  Oh what fun...  I woke up several times last night smelling the skunk odor, I got up and closed the window.

The Jewelweed is flowering now, the hummingbirds seem to like it, it's said the fleshy stem of Jewelweed is full of a gel that will stop the itch of poison ivy.

That's all for now...

It’s National Airborne Day

Shopping...

Interesting day in Concord, went up to Wally World, not finding much of what we went there for... they have 12 checkout lines, only one was manned with a checker, 10+ carts deep waiting in that line we opted to go through one of the 6 the DIY U-scan it lanes. I guess I can put on my resume I worked a short stint at Walmart now.

Decided we were hungry, stopped at Longhorn and left shortly thereafter, no one at the Longhorn in Concord could be bothered to stop by the front to seat us... their loss, another restaurant to cross off our list of places to eat at.  We went next door to TGI Fridays instead.

I got up at 4am this morning, no northern lights were visible...  Bummer

It’s National Airborne Day

Saw the Geese in the field by the Goffstown nursing home today, that's a good indicator that fall is not far away.

Jack (Jack Sparrow) was finally named he's our sparrow that for the last two years sleeps up under the back porch perched up on a bolt that secures the roof to the support posts is still, now we can at least call him by name.

Rose and I mowed for a couple hours the yard this weekend, the fields are in good shape.

I saw a couple of eagles fly up into the pines in the back field, they didn't stick around long but were cool to see.

Saw an article about heating oil in NH going up as high as $9.00 per gallon, OMG...

79-year-old President Brain-Dead Biden “would be better off selling catheters on late night TV.”

We once had a revolution based on taxation without representation, but today, it looks like another one is needed for taxation with representation.

According to Joe Biden: “Our economy had 0% inflation in the month of July. Zero percent.” Kamala Harris parroted that lie: “Last month our economy had 0% inflation.”

Fact: In July, inflation was 8.5% year over year, and that is in large measure the direct result of Biden’s so-called American Rescue Plan last year. The ARP is a major factor in surging inflation over the last eight months, which is now crushing family budgets.

Furthermore, the Producer Price Index — what suppliers and wholesalers are charging — is still 9.8%, and jobless claims have now risen to the highest level this year, adding more fuel to the threat of a full-blown recession.

 That is all...

Mid August already

Mid August already

I was sick with what has to be a FLU a couple weeks ago on Tuesday, I slept 13 hours that night.  I tested myself for Covid, so it's not that. Here it is Saturday and I finally felt well enough to go out and cut down the Sumac trees growing up on the side of the workshop, there were 40 or so of them, I lined them up in piles to get them later on and drag them out to the burn pile.

This Doe waited here for 20 minutes, not moving, Rose went out to the deer-yard, opened the feed barrels scooped out and put grain down and she never moved from this spot watching her the whole time.

In the circle out front

Purple Coneflower, and Veronica

This was Rose yesterday, and the day before that and the day before that... she brushed Zebulon after they went swimming and had a bath, the fur just kept coming, before you knew it there was fur all over the hill by the screen house, out by the back porch, and on the ground by the grill, wow!

Check out these guys, Billie Jean

Let’s take a moment to review. The ‘Vaccines’ are not safe. They are not effective. They do not prevent infection or transmission. They make you more susceptible. They are, without a doubt, the most dangerous vaccines in modern history. And they make you contagious for longer.

None of this was in the marketing materials. The politicians, health officials, and the media left all that out. And the real sin is that it looks like the ‘experts’ knew or suspected a number of these things before launching what became, in too many instances, a 24/7/365 pressure campaign, complete with mandates, based on misinformation.

Electricity bills in New Hampshire are about to get higher.

Eversource is raising its energy supply rate by about 50% on Aug. 1. With customers using, on average, 25% more energy in the summer, a typical customer could expect to see a $70 monthly increase, the utility said.

The energy service rate for New Hampshire Electric Co-op will go up 77%, Liberty Utilities will jump 100% and Eversource’s rate will rise by 112%.

SNL alumni and comedian Rob Schneider: “Let’s be honest about this,” he told the crowd. “If Joe Biden was a dog, you’d put him down. You just would. You’d have to. You know, you’d just take him outside with a five iron. Check out that beautiful sunset Fido and boom, it’d be over.”

China Warns US: “If US fighter jets escort Pelosi’s plane into Taiwan, it is invasion”

Joe Biden evidently believes that recession can be avoided by pretending there is no recession, and that inflationary spending proposals can be enacted by dubbing them “The Inflation Reduction Act.”

If there is a silver lining to the disaster that is Biden's presidency, it's that it has brought into sharp focus all that's wrong with the Democrat Party.
“In the American political lexicon, ‘change’ always means more of the same: more government, more looting of Americans, more inflation, more police-state measures, more unnecessary war, and more centralization of power.” – Ron Paul
Though you have to marvel at the utter shamelessness of Democrats, incessantly warning that “democracy” is on the precipice of extinction, now urging the president to act like a petty dictator.

The Left’s Response To Failure Is To Redefine It As Success

‘Recession’ is far from the first concept the left has simply redefined to deflect the consequences of their failed policies and ideas.

Letting the government tell you what you can and can’t say never ends well.

China, which has equally sized reserves to the U.S., has tapped only 7.4 million barrels of its own stockpile while our emergency supplies are shipped to Beijing.
