Saturday temp was 0.9 degrees this morning. Feels like -22 degrees.
I hope everyone has prepared for this bad storm, it runs from Texas, all the way up to our neck of the woods. They’re calling for snow, freezing rain, and up to 3 inches of ice in some areas of the country that'll break power lines, trees and more, Ouch. Are you ready for it? This may mean long power outages, dangerous driving conditions, etc. Be sure you have a way to keep warm without electricity, have plenty of water stored up, we've got jugs and pans of water on the wood stove in the kitchen in case we lose power.
We stopped over Mom & Dads on Saturday, Lisa was over making cookies, they were good! She was making Mom & Dad a Tuna casserole!
Well it's Sunday 1/25, we have a bunch of little stuff to do before the snow starts around 10:30AM. Deer corn into barrels, a bag of dog food to bring in, and ensure the cars are in a good spot in the front. Rose has us well prepared for a possible power outage, all the LED lights charged, water available, coffee made up, portable power generators ready, flashlights charged and ready. We keep the kitchen cupboards open to we don't end up with frozen cans of soup and vegetables all splitting open.
We're running the oil furnace so the basement stays above freezing.
Sunday morning the news stations are still saying 12-18" this'll be fun! We got around 20" of snow
10AM the town issued a town-wide street parking ban.
By 10:30 we had the dog food in, bird seed and corn barrels filled, trash to the barn and deer block out in the deer-yard, and my car in a good spot for snow clean-up. Let the snowpocalypse begin! We're done outside it is bitter cold out there!
It snowed like crazy all day and was still snowing at midnight when I went to bed.
Jarrod stopped Sunday night to plow the front yard for us likely saving us several hours of snowblowing.
Work cancelled first shift on Monday, good thing it's a mess out there.
While Jarrod and I were plowing the front yard out, what looked to be my plow guy drove by, I called our plow guys house and left him a message that we still wanted him to plow the driveway. His wife Jess texted us back and let us know that Dave had passed away last week, his cancer had come back and after he plowed us out last week he went to the hospital and passed away shortly thereafter. It's a sad day, he was a great guy, I enjoyed our conversations in the driveway. We texted his wife Jess and offered to help with their animals so she could got out to take care of stuff.
Jarrod texted me Monday morning to see when we wanted him to come back again. We agreed on mid afternoon, I gotta get myself a truck with a plow.
I need to clear off Roses car still. I'd cleared mine to move it earlier but still need to finish it.
Wednesday morning -7.5 degrees... ugh, to damned cold to go down to the barn to put the trash out for sure. Grateful there's no wind, we're watching the dogs closely this morning.
Snowmageddon Continues: Another Major Storm Could Slam the East Coast This Weekend. Hah it's going to miss us, Yay!

Friday I got my car inspected, Rose's will get done next week.
We're making our chili this weekend, we'll big batch it so we have some for the coming months. Rose bought a big roast we cubed up and 3 or so pounds of ground beef, our tomatoes, the house will smell great!
I need to clean the pellet stove Saturday, and do a bit more driveway cleanup.
The chili started cooking at 9AM and it simmered all day Saturday, all the preps Rose did Friday paid off, it was so fast and easy to throw together, we added spices, finally the ground beef, rose added the beans, and we topped the pot off with a couple more cans of tomato then more beans before we declared it done. I put the huge pot out in a snow bank to cool off so we could bag it up for the freezer on Sunday. When I went out at 8PM the pot had melted down to the handles. I had several bowls, it's a good batch!
We bagged up 12 quart bags of chili, I had another bowl for lunch, so good!
Mom and Dad took us out to dinner at the Homestead Sunday evening!

Cold is cold but when the wind starts blowing, well that’s a whole different ballgame.
Most people are only now realizing that — even in so-called “free” countries — government-sanctioned propaganda, censorship, and misdirection are pervasive and routine. To the surprise of citizens taught to “trust the authorities,” the unvarnished truth is a bitter pill to swallow: Governments regularly employ psychologically manipulative, and even exploitative, forms of information warfare against their own citizens. Politicians and generals tell lies to mobilize the American public for war. Economists and central bankers tell lies to justify money-printing that robs from the middle class and rewards wealthy elites. Government regulatory bodies tell lies about the safety of food and medicine before taking lucrative jobs inside the global food and pharmaceutical industries. The Chamber of Commerce calls the offshoring of blue-collar jobs and the importation of slave-produced crap “free trade.”
Voters did not elect Trump to manage decline. They elected him to fix things that were not working. That is why DOGE mattered. For a brief moment, it validated what Americans, particularly younger voters, already believed: that the federal government is bloated, corrupt, self-dealing, and largely insulated from consequences. Under-40 voters, the most disillusioned cohort by many measures, were the most supportive of DOGE, the most open to arrests for corruption, and the most likely to agree with the statement that “he who saves his country violates no laws” (57%).
Here’s something else the media won’t tell you.
Tennessee officials keep track of and report the number of crimes committed every year in the state by illegal aliens. The figures for 2025 were just released, and they are shocking.
- Last year alone, illegal aliens from 119 different countries committed 2,183 violent offenses. Illegal aliens murdered 41 people. Illegal aliens committed 145 sexual offenses. Illegal aliens raped 11 children.
- Illegal aliens carjacked 966 victims. Illegal aliens kidnapped 40 people. Illegal aliens assaulted 66 police officers and first responders. All these crimes were committed in just one state in one year by people who never should have been here.
- Because of the Democrat/media frenzy in Minneapolis, you know the names of two radical activists—Renee Good and Alex Pretti. But no one, other than family and friends, knows the names of the 41 victims murdered by illegal aliens in Tennessee.
- Democrats and their media allies won’t tell you about those 41 victims because they don’t care about them. They only care about keeping every illegal alien in America so they can become future Democrat voters, no matter how many Americans are robbed, raped, or murdered.
Rather than lowering the temperature, the Democrats have doubled down and lied about these deaths, calling them “executions.” Make no mistake: These “executions” were the result of deranged, brainwashed leftists putting themselves in harm's way.
- Despite video evidence clearly showing Good struck an ICE agent with her car and Alex Pretti inserting himself into a law enforcement operation while armed – both recipes for disaster – the Left continues to peddle lies, putting agents simply trying to arrest the worst of the worst and protect American citizens in grave danger.
- Yesterday evening, new video footage was released that allegedly shows Alex Pretti, who had altercations with border patrol and law enforcement prior to his death, violently spitting at officers and kicking out one of their SUVs' taillights. There’s been absolute silence from the left-wing media who, like NBC News, have attempted to portray Pretti as an innocent ICU nurse with zero culpability.
- It’s time to restore law and order across the country and crush this opposition: Deport every single illegal possible.
- This mission will not succeed if we allow the radical Left and left-wing media to spread their false narratives.
President Trump said in a statement earlier this week, “a major investigation is going on with respect to the massive 20 Billion Dollar, Plus, Welfare Fraud that has taken place in Minnesota, and is at least partially responsible for the violent organized protests going on in the streets.”
He further noted that Omar is under investigation by House Republicans, probing how she went from low-IQ Somali to multi-millionaire while serving in Congress. Omar, whose community has stolen billions of dollars from the American people, has reportedly gone from being worth $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million now.
“Follow the science” became the rallying cry throughout the darkest days of COVID. However, it turned out to be just a form of virtue signaling — a means to point out how much more culturally responsible some people felt they were compared to others. The point is that we should take “science” with a grain of salt. Failure to do so can lead to sketchy vaccines and horse medicine overdoses.
So, be sensible in the way you look at life, but try not to cling unduly to the things of science. Draw enlightened conclusions based upon the best data but then don’t get your feelings hurt if new information proves you wrong.

- Finally, while we cannot say that media bias has had no impact, it certainly has not proven decisive. After all, despite (because of?) relentless media attacks, Trump won two (three?) presidential elections.
- In short, imagine controlling ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MS NOW, The New York Times, the Washington Post, Hollywood, the universities, etc. — in other words, almost every major source of information and opinion in America — for decades. Then, imagine that you still failed to persuade a majority of voters — how awful must you be?
- Democrat media propagandists — at least in rare moments of honesty — must look in the mirror and ask themselves that question. And that has to rate as the brightest silver lining of all.
- "Turn them over to us in a safe, controlled environment like a jail — instead of releasing them back onto the streets to victimize the neighborhoods where your children go to school, where your parents live, and where families worship, shop, and spend time with your loved ones."
- Since President Donald Trump returned to office one year ago, Charles said Minnesota has released nearly 500 illegal immigrants from state or local custody instead of transferring them to ICE.
Once again, Democrats are offering nothing affirmative in service to the American people. All they have is opposition to President Trump and Republicans. They’ve taken the 20% side of every 80/20 issue.

There are no signs that Democrats want to de-escalate political tensions in the United States. On the contrary, at least since community organizer Barack Obama became president, escalation — including verbal harassment, stalking, physical intimidation, and outright violence — has been a key component of Democrats’ political strategy. Scaring political opponents into silence or subjugation is now standard operating procedure for the Democrat Party.
