MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! Christmas Eve Edition

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

A Christmas Carol 1951

We're a little bit behind,  Rose has been laid up with a busted foot, she's got her boot now, but still can't put weight on the foot. We'll start cleaning and dusting for Christmas on Saturday. Luckily Rose got all the wrapping and shopping done for Christmas a couple of weeks ago.  The muddy fall and winter up to now with the dogs dragging so much mud into the house is ridiculous, sweeping and vacuuming only does so much, the dogs need to go out and play and take care of business.

Workplace is still crazy, so many new people, the loss of so much tribal knowledge as old timers leave, or retire is hurting the business.

I enjoy taking walks when the weather is bad, blizzard conditions, blustery snow, a heavy coat, hat, gloves and my ever present flashlight are all I need to proclaim I'm off for a walk.  It's the solitude, not many folks dare to drive in weather like that.  It's quiet on evenings like this, I may have to step to the side of the road once or twice as a car drives slowly by me. Otherwise it's only the crunch of the snow under my boots, and the sound of the wind blowing through the pines, an occasional crack as a bough breaks. Rose will wait up for my return. We haven't had any snow yet this year, maybe soon, I can wait...

Wanna build a snowman?

Rose got some great news, the doctor called after reviewing the MRI found the bone they thought was broken, is not, it's a torn muscle, she does have a chipped off piece of bone but she doesn't have to use her crutches now, I heard her say YAY three times today already, she's so, so, happy!

It’s national flashlight day, on Friday Yay! It's the simple things...

50's and 60's toy gun commercials, I remember some of these.

Jarrod stopped by Friday night to pick up some gifts for Christmas, our car is to small for all the packages.

The Story of Christmas…

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me:
Twelve drummers drumming
Eleven pipers piping
Ten lords a-leaping
Nine ladies dancing
Eight maids a-milking
Seven swans a-swimming
Six geese a-laying
Five golden rings!
Four calling birds
Three french hens
Two turtle doves
And a partridge in a pear tree!

The song lists a lot of birds, but the author of the above-linked article argues that all the gifts were, in fact, birds. Since the song is Medieval in origin, these are birds that were likely commonly seen and/or eaten during those times.

She suggests the "five golden rings" are ring-necked pheasants. These are Chinese in origin, but had been introduced to Europe during the Roman times, and thus were common.

She speculates the "eight maids a-milking" were either pigeons (which feed "crop milk" to their young) or the elegant cattle egrets which, as the name implies, hang around with cows to eat the insects stirred up by their legs.

The "nine ladies dancing" might be the northern lapwing, the cormorant, or the Eurasian common crane, all known for their vigorous courtship dances.

"Ten lords a-leaping" might be grey herons, wading birds with long legs that were frequently eaten. "Eleven pipers piping" could be any number of shore birds in the sandpiper family. "Twelve drummers drumming" could be woodpeckers, grouse, or snipe.

While these are all mere speculations, considering how Medieval songs originated, none of these would surprise me. At any rate, it was certainly a new take on an old song.

It's Christmas Eve, the dogs must know Santa is coming they've both been real good the last couple days.  Even Winston our lab pup...

US government may demand we stop considering potatoes a vegetable, Idiots!

Researchers have developed an airborne mRNA vaccine offering a vehicle by which to rapidly vaccinate the masses without their knowledge or consent.

Their dem's plan has two weaknesses. The strategy of negativity had no legs. America was not ready to be a land of failure and desperation. They chose the wrong messenger. The team led by the aging bungling Joe Biden and the totally feckless, Black Kamala Harris could not relay the Progressive message, and the failure of the most incompetent, diverse Administration ever put together proved that the New America was doomed to failure. 2023 will be remembered as the year America woke up and saved itself.

The Democrat Party, the radical left, and Joe Biden are the real threats to our freedom.

Biden Regime Is Now Sending Prominent J6 Prisoners to Mental Institutions to Keep Them from Talking Like in the Old Soviet Union

Try to imagine every single person in Alaska.
Now add everyone in Delaware. And in Hawaii. And in Maine. And in Montana. Now add New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Add together every single person in each of those states. Now you have a sense of how many illegal immigrants our demented Democrat president, Joseph Robinette Biden, has allowed to invade our country by refusing to secure our southern border. Customs and Border Protection says we recently saw a record 14,509 illegals in a single day, Tuesday. In addition, as Fox News’s Bill Melugin reports, we’ve already had more than 200,000 border encounters in December alone. That’s the equivalent of a Birmingham, Alabama, crossing our border in just 20 days.

Joe Biden Begs, Threatens Mexico to Reduce Migrant Flood Before 2024 Election

They’re coming from everywhere — from Guinea, Senegal, Liberia, Oman, Lebanon, Bangladesh, India, and elsewhere. They’re flying from Africa into Central America, then heading north. As our Emmy Griffin challenged earlier this week, “Tell us again how it’s not an invasion.”

If Washington can tell border agents to stop waving in illegals when the total hits some arbitrary threshold, then it can tell them to do it from the get-go. In other words, by dickering over just how many illegal migrants can come through in a day before the door slams shut, the Biden administration has at long last said the quiet part out loud: The law doesn’t actually require treating the word “asylum” as a magic “Open sesame.”

There’s a movie coming out in 2024 titled “Civil War.” Indeed, “The weaponization of the legal system creates an all-consuming fire, burning everything in its path,” argues Ben Shapiro. “There is simply no 2024 result likely to result in anything but complete — and perhaps violent — chaos at this point.”

Xi Jinping expressed his desire to take over Taiwan peacefully if possible, but we all know that isn’t going to happen.  So war is coming, and the only thing that needs to be decided now is the timing

The Biden administration and the corporate media are telling us over and over that the economy is just fine, but the term “silent depression” has been going viral on TikTok.  Housing, vehicles, food and just about everything else that we spend money on is far more unaffordable today than it was during the Great Depression of the 1930s.  A realtor in Florida named Freddie Smith posted a video on TikTok with some absolutely startling numbers about the cost of living in the United States today, and that is what started the “silent depression” trend…

TikTok user Freddie Smith, a realtor based in Orlando, posted a video in September claiming that the U.S. economy is in what he calls a “Silent Depression.” In the video, which has amassed nearly 800,000 likes, Smith compares the average 2023 salary and basic costs to those of the Great Depression to highlight the growing cost-of-living crisis in the country.

“If you look back to the Great Depression, the house was only three times the average salary. Now, it is eight times the average salary,” Smith said. “The car was 46% of the salary, the car today is 85% of the salary. And here’s the craziest part, the rent was 16% of the average salary, it is now 42% of the average salary.”
