New Year 2025!!

It's Christmas eve, we'll have Jarrod, Crystal, James and Jason over, Mom and Dad too! Rose is cooking a spiral ham, Turkey soup, and stuffed peppers.

We had a great dinner at Jarrod's on Christmas day
We're off to Meredith NH Saturday for Roses niece Becky and Tony's wedding at Mill Falls, nice place, great wedding, we stayed in a room facing the water 20' or so from Lake Winnipesaukee, we woke to fog and loons on the water in the AM, we stayed for breakfast and headed home on Sunday. James stayed at the house with the dogs.
We went to See Jarrod's band "Latchkey Trio" play at the City Hall Pub in Manchester on New Years Eve. Great time!
It was sad to see homeless people, sleeping on the sidewalks of downtown Manchester out in the frigid weather. There were groups of people camped out.
We stopped over to "REVO" the casino James works at, he's a card dealer there. LOL they carded us at the door... apparently they card everyone entering. We watched him deal several hands, we didn't interrupt but it was great to watch him working.
We made it home in time for the ball drop with minutes to spare! It's the New Year... the days just fly by! 2025 at last!
The Red Foxes and Cottontail Rabbits come into the deer yard nightly, missing each other by 30 minutes or so.
We brought the boys over to see Mom and Dad Friday afternoon before Jason left for his base in NJ. Joe stopped by for a while too.
Now we have Raccoons coming into the deer-yard, we've seen them in the summer, never in the winter though, I guess they don't hibernate.

The wind has been brutal the last couple of days Tuesday Jan 7th we were seeing 40 MPH gusts with the temps in the low teens, Wednesday I woke up to Feels Like temp of -4 degrees.
Just one lifetime ago in the United States, our grandfathers could buy a home, buy a car, have 3 to 4 children, keep their wives at home, take annual vacations, and then retire… all on one middle-class salary. What happened?

The government’s response to this economic turmoil has been woefully inadequate. Instead of addressing the root causes of the problem, officials have chosen to downplay the severity of the situation. The official narrative is one of recovery and resilience, but the data tells a different story. The truth is that we are in the midst of a major economic downturn, and the situation is only getting worse.

Food shortages are on the horizon again. While the MSM continues to attempt to influence the narrative of the "why" of it, True to form, the media is creating their own reasons, such as "climate change," or Donald Trump's mass "deportation" plans, but there is a case to be made that between the war on meat, weather modification projects and the a need to control we the people, this is all by design.
"Smaller scale shortages are expected, driven by factors such as outbreaks, climate change, and tightening immigration policies," says Tejas Bhatt, founder and CEO of digital food-safety consultancy AdvanTejas and member of the Institute of Food Technologists. Moreover, Bhatt tells Eat This, Not That! that "due to the expected rise in cost of foods, food will become more inaccessible, worsening the risk of food insecurity in pockets of the country."
Meanwhile, 70% of shoppers are concerned with rising prices at the grocery store, according to a 2024 report from the Food Industry Association. With potential shortages ahead, food prices are expected to continue to rise: the latest prediction from the Institute of Grocery Distribution expects food price inflation will increase by nearly 5% in 2025, contributing to an overall 40% increase in just five years.
