Big Snow Day January 12th

Now this is a Snowstorm! I Like It!

There was 10 to 12" of snow on the groung when I woke this morning at 6am. The weathermen/women were predicting 7-10" and another station predicted 8-12" up until 11pm last night.

I went out and snowblowed a path to the barn and around the house for the dogs. By 12 noon we had a solid 16-18" it's now 3pm and there is a good 4" more on the ground and no sign of letting up, one station predicted it'll go until 8pm tonight.

Almost no road travel (other than plows) one or two cars an hour traveling southbound down Rt 114. We're getting out the tape measure next time out.

Snow day for Harley! He's loving the snow, the other dogs not so much.

New Hampshire's "January Thaw" 2011

January 1, 2011
January in NH, got to love this weather, temps in the 50's, shopping for the grand kids with no jacket on. We  returned to the house to find 2" of mud in the driveway something I dread in the spring, this was just a taste.

Funny
At 1/1/11 at 11:11am, "All Ones..."  Weird, I called Rose to show her. I just happened to look down after loading up USAToday on my Ipod Touch...  Ok fine, it struck me as funny though.

Crazy Cardinals
I noticed a couple weeks ago one of the Cardinals sitting on the Van drivers side mirror.  I didn't think a lot about but had pointed it out to Rose, She then noticed herself and after watching them sitting on the mirror, they'd jump down to the window ledge and then back up on top of the the mirror again.  The Cardinals were looking at themselves in the mirror.  I noticed today all the bird droppings on the door window edge and on the mirror itself.  I suppose if it's good for Parakeets then why not Cardinals?

Happy New Year!
