Sunday Sunday

A slow weekend because of the storm

I did a couple hours of snowblowing on Saturday

Saturday afternoon we heard a crash, and a bang, in the house from ice coming off the kitchen roof, sometimes we hear ice off the roof hit the old unused Dish network dish with a clang. I went out around the house and see the ice has hit the kitchen front porch lite smashing it to pieces. It broke into 6 or 7 pieces not a single piece of broken glass though, the 5 individual glass pieces were all intact. That just never happens...

Cleared off the cars on Sunday, and did some shovel cleanup

We went for a grain run, oddly enough they had some Wildlife Grains and whole corn too, our last two trips resulted in going elsewhere.  It did save me a trip to Henniker.

The Herd

The deer are still coming in nightly, thus the trip to the grain store, we picked up a couple more deer blocks recently.  The deer blocks are just in case we can't for some reason get out to feed them.

A group of 6 were extra hungry and came in before dark at 5pm today... 2/28 5PM, the herd is a pretty good looking bunch.  These Pics I took from inside the kitchen, Rose can get away with going out with them, they're afraid of me...

We had a fox go through the front yard early Sunday morning, Rose has seen a couple very large hawks flying over the field this weekend, we're hoping the fox and hawks can help with what I think will be another squirrel apocalypse in 2022. It happened a couple years back I never in my life saw so many road killed squirrels in my life. Maybe it's time to break out the squirrel recipes again.

That's All, Stay safe folks.

I Fixed that...

I Fixed that...

I fixed the upstairs bathroom medicine cabinet door hinge, the $17 I paid for the pair of specialty hinges was much cheaper than replacing the entire medicine cabinet.

WMUR News was just on, talking about temps in the 60s on Friday and they actually uttered the dreaded words (well dreaded around here) start of MUD SEASON! UGH!

Friday AM and the back yard is already a mud pit,  I put some hay down on top of the mud today to try and keep some of the mud outside!

A bakers dozen out in the deer yard last night!

Shining a light on idiocy!

When your government calls anything it doesn’t like “hate speech” or “political extremism,” totalitarianism is not far away.

In a stunning op-ed released Friday, the NY Times finally admitted that “assault weapons” are a made-up political term fabricated by anti-gun Democrats.

They're talking about Runs on Banks in Canada now... Banks closing to protect themselves...

We'll have to watch this one closely, it won't end well.

Shopping adventures and Soup!

Adventures...

More adventures in food shopping tonight at the MB supermarket. Most of the shelves had product, but weird stuff in wrong places, (you're not supposed to notice...  The cereal box is now 1.2" inches thick?  12 feet of marshmallow fluff, etc.  No beef gravy to be had in the store. Meat prices WTH?  Cold cuts counter was stocked, only a couple slots in the case were empty. Our grocery bill has gone up at least 50% already and were only 2 months into 2022.

Saturday morning I went out to do some ice chopping, so much ice...  I took a walk around the house and decided VERY quickly that I needed my cleats, OMG this ice is so dangerous with a light coating of water on it.  I put my "super cleats" on and headed towards the barn, we're out of sand up at the house, we put sand down, it warms up, the sand sinks underneath the water that melted during the day and freezes again overnight, jeesh. The struggle is real...

Anyway I went to get the ice chopper out of the barn, found the barrel that had frozen sand in it had warmed up with the 50 degree temps yesterday.  It was now nice, loose, damp sand perfect for throwing on the driveway and the walks.  Yay!

Off to Home Depot to get more dry play sand or Sakrete sand whichever they have.  Frozen wet sand is no fun for anyone. "There's a pun in there somewhere"

I made up a batch of Johnnie Searle's Kale soup on Saturday, we had it for dinner and breakfast.

It's just about Chili time too...  I think we're completely out, oh the horror!

Quite the herd...

Quite the herd...

Our normal 4-7 deer came in last night at dusk, they congregated out in the deer yard, then a little later there were 11, then look again... there were now several more, we counted at least 13 deer herd in the deer yard tonight!

Eleven in this pic,  there's one behind the Forsythia bush

Wow quite the herd, we had 4 in this morning before 6:30am too...

We took a trip to pay the oil bill today, hit the local grain store, nope still no corn.  So we took a ride up to Blue Seal in Henniker and they had it along with some new dog toys, and treats.

Interesting...

There are still people willing to challenge the establishment line on COVID and your “experts” have been moving closer and closer to that line. What was once conspiracy theory is becoming CovIdiot expert opinion.

Fauci: The “Full Blown” Scamdemic Is “Almost Over” In The U.S.

Mac Slavo
February 9th, 2022

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser for President Biden United States’ head medical tyrant said in an interview published Tuesday that the U.S. is almost past the “full-blown” pandemic phase of the coronavirus.  He also said he hopes that all virus-related restrictions could wind down in a few months.

Just in time for what? A new scariant? A real bioweapon? A real virus that will actually harm people? Tyrants being “hopeful” that they will give a little control back to the public should send a red flag warning off in all of us.

Our Weekend Agenda

Our Weekend Agenda

Saturday we had to go out to Wally World, we won't venture over to Manchester store, so off to Concord we went, we entered the store and were we surprised... Right at the entrance there were lines of people winding around towards the cashiers, the lines extended some 20 feet or so into the woman's clothing department rows, long lines 30+ people in line with carriages, at every single line including the self checkout line, we're not sure what happened, did the entire store head to checkout at the same time or something else we weren't aware of happen?  This was way worse than Christmas time. Maybe, just maybe, we will keep Amazon Prime that just went up to $139 per year.

Sunday morning, a cold night last night, it was 3 degrees when I got up this morning at 5am.  A couple deer have been out at the deer yard twice already this morning, once around 9:30am, and again at 11:15 am, either they missed feeding last night or they felt the need a few extra calories.  We'll go out early this afternoon today to feed them.

There is supposed to be a another storm coming in Monday the 7th into Tuesday the 8th morning.

Rose set a timer for an hour Sunday morning, I asked what's the timer for, she said I'll put the pot roast in the crock-pot when it goes off.  Out to the kitchen I went, by 10:30am I had the pot roast, our own potatoes, carrots, and onions in the crock pot cooking.  Yum...

We were off to the feed store on Sunday, we're out of corn and wildlife grains.  Good stuff everyone eats the wildlife grains.  The feed store was almost out of corn, they only had one 50lb. bag left, we grabbed it and a bag of wildlife and were back to the house.  We hit the gas station on the way, OUCH!, $30.75 and I had a quarter of a tank of gas when I got there.

We're watching REACHER fast paced action series that came out on Saturday it's an Amazon Prime Video exclusive.  Great so far!

Still haven't had the opportunity to make a batch of Kale soup.  Maybe this week...

Sorry in advance, but I thought this was funny, I could watch it all day...   Over and Over...

Then there were Seven

Then there were Seven

Hah, Winter Storm Kenan was a wimp, we got about 6" for the most part, clean-up was a breeze, the snow was light and fluffy, it took us an hour start to finish to snow blow, that included the workshop, walkways, the deer yard, and the front yard.  I'm Ok with that...

1/30 Sunday, we went over to Jarrod's for Dinner on Sunday afternoon. A nice pot roast dinner, garlic bread, he made a huge pot so he sent us home with leftovers too. Yum!

Quiet and cold, lots of deer tracks, on 2/1 it was -0.4 Degrees F this morning, we're warming up, lol.

THE SEVEN

Thursday evening before the storm, Rose looked out and here they come, seven of them single file towards the deer yard. I took a couple quick shots, not a great pic in the lot, they were on the move, it was getting quite dark, camera was telling me to raise the flash, yeah I know excuses, excuses.. LOL.  The seven girls came in early tonight to get a bite to eat, good to see them in the daylight. We try not to light them up in the evening, only lighting up the yard to ensure it's OK to let the dogs out, otherwise the dogs sometimes charge to the corner by the gazebo and bark at them scaring them away.  Rose says one of the biggest Does is not nice kicking some of the smaller deer away from the deer yard.  This explains why they seem to vary times they come in sometime just a single deer will come in early or late in the evening when everyone else sleeps.

Thursday we're supposed to get ice...  By 7pm it was still raining the dogs were not impressed, other than drinking the contents of puddles.  Radar is showing a big green mass of rain headed our way at 45 degrees we can only hope that it doesn't turn to ice. Woke up at 5am this morning, raining, then sleeting, not a lot of traffic on the roads. This is supposed to keep up through 7pm Friday evening, it was still spitting snow at 10PM when I went to bed.

Saturday and Sunday were nice, we were off to the feed store.
