Superbowl Sunday the wife and I ended up moving an entire ton of wood pellets to the shed porch.  What a great Superbowl KC won in OT.   The sky was shades of purple as we drove to Jarrod's for the game.

So much mud!

Rosie watched Winston wipe out in the mud after we moved the pellets, she had to wipe him down before letting him in the house, he was covered.

A couple days ago they we're saying 6-12" and now... we had less than 1/2" on the ground

My Valentine and I went out to Carraba's for dinner, the food was great, place was packed, I'd called ahead for reservations so we were seated 3 minutes after arrival.  Food was good, the time it took to get our meal though was ridiculous...

It was wicked windy a couple days this week, up in Manchester the street signs were all wagging in the wind. 

James & Jason turned 18 on Friday!  Hard to believe!  Time flies... We had a nice dinner with Jarrod, Crystal, James and Jason at the Olive Garden in Concord.

James starts his new Job at Hillsboro Ford this week.

Saturday I trimmed up a couple of the last trip pieces for the bathroom, I cut the threshold trim piece as well, lo and behold it fit perfect!  

Tuesday, Winston is off to the Vet to get neutered today, he'll get released later in the day wearing a cone of shame, oh what fun he'll be with that.

Winston is doing well after his Neuter, he's knocking everything over with his cone of shame though.

The yard is still a mud pit.  I don't even dare drive on the hill right now.

Call it "Snow Moon", "Hunger Moon" or "Minimoon" — February's second full moon of 2024 has many names. The full moon will appear on February 24. As per the NASA, the next full Moon will be Saturday morning, February 24, 2024, "appearing opposite the Sun (in Earth-based longitude) at 7:30 am EST".  This full moon happens when the Moon is exactly on the opposite side of the Earth from the sun. The "Snow Moon" will be the smallest of the year as it rises during dusk on Saturday, Live Science reported.

So the snow moon was very small as expected.

Thousands of Grackle, Blackbirds, or Starlings (we weren't close enough to positively ID them) were all flying tree to tree cackling loudly up in the big pines it  took quite some time before the flock/swarm was out of earshot.

I picked up a couple of rotisserie chickens on Thursday, we got 4 meals out of the two birds.

Four deer came in last night, we're hoping to see some fawns by June 15-20th

Thankfully the mud froze up this weekend...

Thomas Jefferson wrote about governments that “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,” In modern English, government exists to do for men those things they cannot do for themselves: protect the nation, ensure tranquility within the nation and guarantee God-given individual rights are not trampled upon within the nation. Our government has failed in that task. Our nation, therefore, is a failed state.

Finally, there is the open border and the flood of illegal immigration. Since Joe Biden has been president, almost 10 million people, mostly military-aged males, have poured across our border. American taxpayers must support virtually every one of them.

The Declaration of Independence states, “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government…” In this case, it’s not a government per se that has become destructive to those ends but the Democrat party. Let’s hope that in November, those who take America seriously take the opportunity to show that vile, despicable party the door…  

You have to marvel at how Democrats can lie at the drop of a hat. Don’t get me wrong: I know there are Republicans as well from whom you can’t take everything they say at face value. But since the Obama administration — which was “scandal free,” by the way, if you believe the media — lying has become second nature. Donald Trump had the “Art of the Deal,” but Joe Biden has the art of the lie, denying responsibility for anything that goes wrong.

Joe is not responsible for the border, inflation (Bidenomics is working), higher gas prices — you name it. Joe has been a “lying dog-faced pony soldier” since his first presidential campaign. He lied about how smart he is (three degrees), how brave he is (arrested trying to see Nelson Mandela), and how talented he is (drove a big rig). Depending on the crowd he’s with, he’s done it all. He said he was raised in a Puerto Rican community and spent more time in black churches than black people. He’s amazing! I could go on, but we’ve all heard his lies ad nauseam.

With the release of the special counsel’s report on Biden’s document scandal, the Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) have gone into hyper-drive. The special counsel, they say, lied about Joe’s releasing secret files, his serious memory problems, and other issues. The special counsel said Joe was not charged because he was an elderly man with a bad memory. Trump should hire Biden’s attorneys and file for dismissal of his charges. 

Democrats are showing their supporters just how disposable they are. In recent weeks, Biden has betrayed black people, women and others.

Let’s start with black people who provide one-fourth of the votes Democrats receive. That’s a lot of votes and a lot of clout. For decades, Democrats took them for granted but about 20 years ago, Democrats adopted a DEI strategy that has led to a surge of black mayors across the country and of course, Barack Obama

An early Spring is on the way!

Our great-grandparents were the original preppers, understanding the value of being self-sufficient and prepared for hard times. Embracing their wisdom by learning skills like canning, gardening, and basic repair work honors their legacy and ensures we’re ready for the future. 

Nice sunny day on Saturday Feb. 3rd 35 degrees, I'll take it.

Fed the deer, threw some snowballs for the dogs, put some sand down on the icy walk and cleared the snow off the solar panels at the trailer.  I'm still looking for a good place to put another panel.

The wife checked the oil tank level and brought up the HEPA vac so I could clean  the pellet stove. We clean the pellet stove every month or so. I'm giving it a good cleaning on Saturday, it'll throw heat like crazy after that as the heat exchange baffles aren't covered in fine silty ash. We'll be ready for the cold February winter blast assuming we get one.

The Eclipse is coming, we got a couple pairs of CE and ISO Certified Safe eclipse glasses hoping we'll get a clear day and get a good view.

Saturday the 10th is supposed to be 57 degrees,  wow!

It's the SUPERBOWL on SUNDAY! I like a good superbowl, the commercials and halftime are usually pretty good.

One of the blogs I followed reminded me that Taxes are coming up... I'll get Turbotax and have at it.

Squirrel on the deer block out in the deer yard, everyone loves 'em.

Rose's brother Jimmy went back in the hospital on Friday evening, then he's off to Boston where they have more expertise.

Stopped over to Mom & Dads, dropped off a deer block in their back yard.  Hope they enjoy it!

We got grain for the critters at Tractor Supply on Saturday, I got all the trim for the bathroom cut and fitted fianlly.  I need to re-mark out the threshold trim, I smudged it so a re-do is necessary.

The yard around the house is once again a mud pit, between the dogs running and playing, the cars, the rain, and 55 degree temps everything is melting making it worse.

We'll load up the porch with pellets today, ugh, around 1500 lbs.

 

 

 

 

 

A special counsel appointed by Biden's own administration concluded that the president, 81, was too old and incompetent to stand trial for mishandling classified information. Among the bill’s ingredients: $20 billion for border security, the end of Biden’s disastrous “catch and release” policy, an expansion of detention capacity for families, a raising of asylum standards and fast-tracking of asylum claims, 50,000 new visas over five years, and a measly $650 million to expand the border wall. Oh, and $60 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel, and $10 billion for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. We can’t make this stuff up.

• The latest story they are trying to sell you is that, ok we created COVID over in China, but what we were doing is basically “gain of function” research trying to inoculate bats in caves over in China.  Why?  Well, because what if some day we had troops over there in China and they had to go into caves, and we’d want our troops to be “inoculated” against catching COVID from bats.  So we engineered it and then it escaped and got loose and basically infected the whole world.
• Yes folks, that’s actually what they’re trying to sell you now. Unreal.

The late George Carlin used to say, you know how stupid the average guy is? Well, half the people are dumber than that. This crossed my mind because CNN — I watch CNN so you don’t have to — was hyping up this Quinnipiac University poll claiming that (a) Biden is leading Trump 50% to 44%, and (b) Nikki Haley would beat Biden, 47% to 42%.

Of course, you don’t believe that any more than I believe it and, quite frankly, I don’t think the people at CNN believe it either, but the point is that they think the CNN audience will believe it, and who can say they’re wrong? The CNN audience is composed of the kind of people who would vote to elect Fani Willis as their district attorney.

The president has described Trump to longtime friends and close aides as a “sick fuck” who delights in others’ misfortunes, according to three people who have heard the president use the profane description. According to one of the people who has spoke with the president, Biden recently said of Trump: “What a fucking asshole the guy is.”   -   The White House declined to comment.

No, sick is someone who tries to divide the nation and demonize Americans as Biden has. Sick is someone who can’t find his way off a stage but thinks he can run again for office though he barely seems to know where he is half the time. Sick is someone who can never take responsibility for his failures and keeps making the same mistakes, like Joe Biden. Sick is telling the same lies, including about your political opponent, over and over and over again — even when those lies have been debunked — but not being able to stop.

If the program ends, banks that have been relying on the BTFP for liquidity may find themselves in a difficult position, potentially leading to a banking crisis or bank crash. However, the Federal Reserve has stated that the program's ending is a planned measure and part of its effort to demonstrate support for the banking system.

The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday announced that the Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP) will cease making new loans as scheduled on March 11. The program will continue to make loans until that time and is available as an additional source of liquidity for eligible institutions.

During a period of stress last spring, the Bank Term Funding Program helped assure the stability of the banking system and provide support for the economy. After March 11, banks and other depository institutions will continue to have ready access to the discount window to meet liquidity needs.

As the program ends, the interest rate applicable to new BTFP loans has been adjusted such that the rate on new loans extended from now through program expiration will be no lower than the interest rate on reserve balances in effect on the day the loan is made. This rate adjustment ensures that the BTFP continues to support the goals of the program in the current interest rate environment. This change is effective immediately. All other terms of the program are unchanged.

The BTFP was established under Section 13(3) of the Federal Reserve Act, with approval of the Treasury Secretary.

Nothing has improved from last year, it's only been covered up by this program.

And interest rates are now higher creating more pressure on the system.

In other words...not good!

So...what happens when the safety net gets pulled?

• Step one, flood the country for three years with millions of illegal aliens.
  Step two, watch approval numbers on the border drop below 20%.
  Step three, election year is here. Decide you need to act now that you’ve let millions of illegals into the country and the American people are pissed.
  Step four, line up some rhinos in the Senate to assist with the next phase of the plan.
  Step five, work with the RINOs on a bipartisan basis to devise a garbage piece of legislation that would make the crisis considerably worse.
  Step six, ensure the bill is so bad that becomes toxic for Republicans, so much so that even the Republican RINO leadership who helped negotiate it is forced to abandon it.
  Step seven, message the doomed legislation as the strongest immigration and border bill in history, knowing the media will faithfully echo your propaganda.
  Step eight, claim the only reason Republicans abandon the bill is because Trump wants to use the open border as a campaign issue.
  Step nine, adopt your new 2024 campaign mantra the border crisis is Trump’s fault.
