We got about an inch of snow so far Wednesday morning, it's supposed to start again later today, 1-3 predicted. We got a solid 2" then rain...

We're getting a ton of rain Friday, wet, wet, wet... The yard is a mud pit again.
It was Rose's Birthday!
We've got 3-6" or 6-10" inches of snow, they're not sure yet... on the way Sunday afternoon into Monday night, so far it's been a pretty uneventful winter snow wise here. We ended up with 9" of heavy, heavy wet snow.
Windy day...
Rose had taken the decorations off the tree weeks ago, we got it hauled down to the back room of the barn finally last Sunday. While we were down there I grabbed the trim molding pieces I'd found to finish the bathroom trim up.
We got a good 8 or so inches of heavy wet snow, so far Monday AM we still have power. The pine boughs are hanging low, and all of the birches are hanging to the ground, it's amazing they come back from that.
Jarrod plowed our front yard out, it was a big help!
We went out for Chinese food with Crystal, Jarrod, James and Jason, food was great, James and Jarrod made a Pineapple Upside Down cake too...
Zeb went to the vet again yesterday, he has a little bit of Hip Displasia, and some soft tissue injury most likely from sparring with Winston.

Rose saw 5 Bluebirds the other day, and there's a flock of 5 big crows coming into the deer yard cleaning up what the deer didn't.

I love old places... Crazy stuff we did as kids... Remembering...
As a kid walking to downtown with a couple of neighbors in Billerica MA back in the late 60s a group of us went into a long abandoned house, it was quite dilapidated and falling in, most of the second floor had partially collapsed, we climbed the floor that was still clinging to one wall up to the second story best we could, I found an old door that has an ornate skeleton key lockset, removing it, we carefully climbed back down. I had that lockset for years, don't remember what happened to it.
The old chicken barns of Pepperell, on the way to/from sucker brook fishing we'd visit the huge barns full of old chicken rearing equipment, brooders, feeders, laying boxes, etc, lot's of cool stuff in those old barns slowly being consumed by nature, many of the barns roofs had collapsed making it difficult to move through them.
The old mill by the stream Sucker Brook, we'd see it as we fished our way down the stream there were enormous steam boilers long cold and rusting, and gears, huge steel gears all the way down the side of the creek. The gears were simply too heavy to move.
The old sawmill at Kimball's the ice cream place spoke to me, I could almost hear the saws still turning and sawdust flying last time we were there. I'd love to set one of these mills up. Maybe in my retirement~

We've less than eleven months, and if nothing else goes wrong, Trump, as the newly (re-)elected president, will inherit no less than three wars, a flailing economy, a 34-trillion-dollar federal deficit, high crime rates across the country, a broken Southern border that has spilled at least nine million new people into the country without being vetted, and a Deep State that doesn’t want him to succeed.
The Deep State are the people who have permanent government jobs, and who would never allow an elected executive to come in and dictate their careers. And it is the largesse of the Deep State that has made our government inefficient; it is why the taxpayers are 33 trillion dollars in debt, a debt that will eventually destroy the U.S. economy. Trump needs to bring a machete.
It seems that the Donald did the same thing that every losing Democrat since Al Gore has done: he questioned the vote-counting. That’s considered “protecting our democracy” when a Democrat does it, but according to Fani, it’s criminal conspiracy when a Republican does it.
If you cannot talk about safety and security at home with a porous Southern Border, the Middle East is on fire on multiple fronts, and Zelenskyy comes to Washington monthly to refill his piggy bank. That bank is one-of-a-kind with the tagline: 10% of your tax dollars that go to Ukraine is sent to “The Big Guy.” They cannot talk about Bidenomics because everyone knows it is not working. They cannot speak about Fentanyl as we are still losing 100,000 lives per year to drug poisoning. They cannot claim an improved infrastructure as commercial passenger jets are catching fire and losing doors in mid-flight. No, there is nothing about Biden’s policy that this Administration can point to as a success, so they will fall back on a proven winner to get votes: abortion. Until every state offers free abortions to every person with a uterus up until the time of delivery, they will keep using abortion as a campaign slogan and blame the Republicans for putting every woman’s life in jeopardy. It is a horrid purpose and a gross hyperbole, but it works for Democrats.
As our sanctuary-country sinks even further under the weight of millions of illegal immigrants, the President and his fellow Democrats believe the solution is to give them work permits so they can “support themselves.”
Where is their concern for the citizens whose jobs these illegal immigrants will take? Have they never heard of the concept of opportunity cost? Every job they take is a job that won’t be available to legal citizens. That’s not a political philosophy but a cold hard fact.
What is even worse is the fact that this army of illegal immigrants is certain to depress working folk’s hourly wages for generations to come.
You will often hear it said they are only taking jobs Americans won’t do. That is a lie. The truth is Americans won’t do some of those jobs for the wages being offered. So, rather than allowing the marketplace to raise the wages being offered, their revolting solution is to import millions of low-skilled illegals in a planned strategy to keep working people’s wages low, forever.
“An astonishing 77% of the Elites – including almost 90% of the Elites who graduated from the top universities – favor rationing of energy, gas, and meat to combat climate change.” This is starkly at odds with the will of all Americans, 63% of whom oppose this policy. It is shameful and embarrassing that so many “elite” Americans have drunk the Kool-Aid -- and bent the knee at the altar of progressivism. These are folks that would be more at home attending the World Economic Forum in Davos than a country music concert in Des Moines. And would then fly back to the U.S. to snob the rest of us and bitch about the carbon footprints of lawnmowers and farmers.
