The Storm Aftermath:

The Storm Aftermath:

Our town New Boston NH got hammered from the early Saturday/Sunday storm, 87% of the town was without power.  Snow then rain on top of that stuck to tree limbs, then the wind came up and a lot of trees and branches came down taking out lines and in some cases the poles with them. The Eversource folks did a great job keeping us updated with power return expectations.  And the amazing linemen did a fantastic job "as always" getting us back online much earlier than expected.  At one point we were being told maybe sometime Tuesday evening we'd get power back!

We lost power Sunday morning for good, we got it back Monday around 10AM,  finally... A lot of NH is still struggling, Jarrod got his power back around the same time.  I was off to re-prime the powerless well pump over the two days allowed the pump to drain back down to the well, luckily I was able to add a couple cups to the pump itself and a gallon or so to the well line, turned it back on and had Rose open a sink line, in short order the pump started sputtering, spitting and slowly but surely the pump pressure came back to 40-60 pounds!  A quick fix! I like it!

Rose and I re-plugged everything back in to where they belonged and away we go...Ready for the next one.

We'll have to fill up a couple propane tanks once everything settles back down.

We went through all the LED flashlights and replaced batteries, there were a few casualties in the bunch with corroded batteries in them.  We also charged up all the rechargeable batteries we have,  AAs, AAAs, C's, and Ds along with some 18650s.

1/4" of ice coming in Tuesday evening... oh, great, we didn't lose power this time...

More rain Wednesday evening into Thursday, flood watch in effect. So far the rivers and streams look OK.

What's a Trillion Dollars look like

Friday, Winston's been doing good, but he's getting into everything, I heard him tearing something in the dining room this morning, went to check on him, he'd tore up an entire roll of toilet paper, it was all over the dining room.  Last night he went out to the kitchen twice getting potholders off the counter playing keep away with Rose.  Thursday Rose went out to the deer yard, Winston dug a huge trench at a chippy hole on the side hill.  He needs to go out and play, the rain is keeping both dogs in the house.

Friday evening we're off to the grain store to get feed for the Deer and some patio blocks in an attempt to stop the dogs digging to China after chipmunks.

The wicked winds are back this afternoon...  they continued into Saturday morning howling every so often.

With Spring here it's almost time to head to Milford Hayward's for a Chili dog and Chocolate Frappe, a yearly pilgrimage.

I heard that Kimball Farm Ice Cream opened up for their 85th season.

So far we haven't seen any ticks here on the farm this year, queue Jaws theme music...  https://www.wired.com/story/pill-kills-ticks-lyme-disease-babesiosis-anaplasmosis/

Looks like a small step towards an anti-tick medication for humans like the ones our pets get.

    • "It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government."- Thomas Paine
    • "Loyalty to country ALWAYS. Loyalty to government, when it deserves it." - Mark Twain

I went out into the field and picked Rose some more Pussy willows, they are just about done for the year.

My Plan for the weekend...

It's EASTER!  Jarrod and the gang are coming over today, Jarrod played a gig last night, I'll have to get details.

Jarrod, Crystal, James, Lee, and Jason came over for Easter, we had one of the best hams I think I've ever eaten!  Scalloped potatoes and a veggie medley too.

Another Storm is coming... 3-6' or 6-12" we're right on the line of snow headed here for Wednesday April 3rd, into Thursday and I thought for sure we were done with the white stuff.

snow forecast

I took Monday April Fools Day off, Rose and I took down the old chicken coop, we got it all taken down in about 3 hours, 3 trips to the burn pile and 2 trips to the metal scrap pile later... The cleared area looks good it,d be a great spot for a cow paddock!

Rose pulled out about 200 feet of hose, we pulled it out into the field, we may need it for Fireworks... We've only set the field on fire once, we were able to put it out quick.

Nobody won Powerball again...

Destroyers of Democracy Continue to Insist That Trump Will Destroy Democracy ….

Joe Biden tells us life is great since he saved us from Trump’s economy. Don’t listen to the news, they say, and things will look great. Joe says wages are up (a lie), inflation is down (a lie), and that he’s cut the deficit by over a trillion dollars (whopper of a lie).

“Putting food on the table has become harder than ever thanks to ‘Bidenomics,'” the website explains. “As costs for everyday items continue to rise, American families are struggling more and more to foot the bill.”

For example, under Trump, a two-pound pack of ground beef, five pounds of potatoes, a gallon of milk, a dozen eggs, and a pound of coffee was $17.32.

The same grocery order is now averaging $26.05 under Biden.

Americans Need to Earn 80% MORE Today Than Before Bidenomics Struck Just to Afford Buying a Home
Posted on March 30, 2024 by Constitutional Nobody

Home prices have seen a significant increase of 42% since 2020. The rise in both mortgage rates and borrowing costs has made it more challenging to afford a home in today’s market. As a result, prospective buyers need to earn 80% more than they did four years ago to comfortably purchase a home.

Median incomes have only risen by 23% over the same period, leaving many people unable to enter the housing market. In 2020, a household earning $59,000 per year could afford a typical home priced at $240,815. At that time, this income level was below the US median income of $66,000, meaning more than half of American households had sufficient funds to buy a home without overextending their budgets.

Today, those shopping for a home need to earn $106,000 annually to afford a median-priced home at $342,941. This is $47,000 more than they needed to earn in 2020 to afford a home and well above the current average income of $81,000.

The mainstream media say that violent white extremists are the real danger. They urge us to ignore the rampant crime, burning cities, and hundreds of thousands of drug-addicted and mentally-addled who have taken over our streets and cities. Much violence goes unreported.

God forbid any white person strays off the straight and narrow; that’s world news to them. In fact, whites are passive, not violent. We are constantly admonished that there must be no violence in politics, except we see examples every day coming from the Progressive left.

Communists are relentless, directed, powerful, and without mercy. They want you dead or subjugated. America is the last line of defense that restrains them. World socialism, a.k.a. communism, is staging a comeback, and America is the single nation that threatens its success. Obama, Biden, and a staggering number of educators, government workers, and our elected Senators and Representatives are gunning for traditional America, particularly white America.

Politicians, even the most conservative of them, will not be able to save us. I believe America is ripe for a new kind of revolution of ideas, re-engagement, and pushback.

Biden Considers Handing Out Green Cards To Foreigners Entering U.S. Illegally, Granting Amnesty

Those with ears to hear are aware: this is psychological warfare.

There are several lessons we can take from this.

  •     Many viewers still think they’re watching “news.”
  •     Psychological warfare masquerading as news is the norm, not the exception.
  •     The tactics of the Media Industrial Complex are usually much more subtle, polished, and undetectable.

Obviously, the problem isn’t just news. Democommunists have corrupted formerly respectable institutions such as late-night talk shows, SNL, and scores more.
Most Republican politicians are either 1) dinosaurs, who still think it’s 1990 and are utterly oblivious to our current situation, or 2) eunuchs, who know what’s happening but lack the spine to do anything about it.

More Americans need to awaken to some harsh truths.

Senate Democrats on Friday night voted unanimously to continue facilitating the invasion of our country by shooting down Tennessee Republican Senator Bill Hagerty’s amendment to the Swamp’s spending bill that would prevent the use of American tax dollars to fly illegals from foreign airports into various U.S. cities.
