It was 50 degrees this morning when I got up, summer is slipping away fast!
Rose and I were driving to Home Depot on Friday not once, but twice, we started noticing the Maple trees starting to change,
Our Well Pump sprung a leak Early Friday morning, Rose woke up at 12:30am hearing the well pump come on every 1/2 hour, she shut the water valve and cut the pump power, there was water on the floor not much but obviously something was leaking, she woke me to let me know what happened. I got up at around 2:30am and went down to see what the issue was, I couldn't sleep thinking about it, I found there was a tiny hole in the end plate of the pressure tank spraying water from a tiny hole, ugh. At least I'd have the weekend to get it fixed. Off to Home Depot we went, 2 hours or so later we had the old pump pulled and the new one installed, now we needed to prime the pump and the water line back to the well, that took less time than it normally did, we have a drill pump that works well for priming. I'd finished all the connections and hooked up the power and turned it on, Rose went upstairs and opened some taps. It took about 15-20 minutes to get the water from the well all the way to the pump. I thought it was kinda odd watching the pressure gauge, the pressure kept dropping once the pump stopped the pressure kept dropping until the pump kicked on, Rose had already closed the tap, hmm. I walked over to the water heater and sure enough it too had failed, with water pouring out the bottom of it, explaining the pump pressure dropping. Back to Home depot we went to get a new water heater... So between the well pump and the water heater, (Water heaters cost between $439 and $1000 now!) We went with the cheap option, a 40 gallon electric unit for $439. I don't need a computer operated water heater and certainly didn't need one with Bluetooth. The pump was $387, plus the 439 for the water heater, there goes $826.00 an expensive day! Better to be replacing them now than in February as we've done in the past. I installed a cold water shutoff on the water line at the water heater so no water would go to it, turned the water pump back on and pulled all the aerators from the faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms. So we have cold water until Saturday, it's too late tonight and we're hungry, Rose made up a chicken stir fry that was great. I'll install the water heater on Saturday. Whew! It's been a day!
We picked up some mouse traps for the basement and camper fall's a comin' and the critters will be looking for a nice cozy place to spend the winter.

- Ask yourself this: Why do Democrats think towns with fewer than a thousand living in them need voting machines to count ballots? Why is the DOJ going scorched earth to make sure they use the machines?

As Politico put it, “Under pressure to defend Kamala Harris’ grocery price gouging plan, some Democratic lawmakers are delivering a quiet message to anxious allies: Don’t worry about the details. It’s never going to pass Congress.”
The Washington Post notes that Harris allies “are arguing both publicly and privately that her plans have been taken out of context.”
That Harris has reversed field on so much of what she said during her ill-fated primary campaign and its aftermath suggests that she wasn’t very good at policy in 2019 and 2020.
The walk-back on price gouging suggests that she isn’t very good at it in 2024, either.

In the latest attempt to hoodwink the American public, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz sat down with Dana Bash for what was supposed to be a transparent interview about their policies and plans if Harris were to ascend to the presidency.
Instead, what unfolded was a masterclass in political double-speak, half-truths, and outright lies, all carefully curated to mislead voters.
Kamala Harris made it clear during the interview that she has no intention of moderating her extreme positions. When asked if her values had changed, she proudly declared, “My values have not changed.” And that’s exactly the problem.
In one of the more absurd moments of the interview, Harris tried to paint the economic disaster of “Bidenomics” as a success.
Bash pointed out that many Americans remember better economic times under President Trump when groceries were cheaper, and housing was more affordable. Harris, rather than addressing these concerns head-on, deflected by blaming the pandemic and Trump’s management of it.
She claimed that the Biden-Harris regime had brought inflation “down” to a higher level than it was when they took office.
This is simply not true. Inflation was 1.4% when President Trump left office, and it hasn’t been back to that level since Harris and Biden have been in power. The worst inflation crisis in over three decades has cost American families thousands of dollars in increased living costs, and Harris’s response was nothing short of insulting.
On immigration, Kamala insisted that the record number of illegal border crossings during her tenure had somehow “resulted in a number of benefits.” Benefits for whom, exactly? Certainly not for the American citizens who are footing the bill.
U.S. taxpayers spent $150 billion on illegals last year thanks to Kamala‘s open border.
During their administration, illegal immigrants crossing the border are at a record high.
Throughout the interview, what was glaringly absent was any acknowledgment of the mess Harris and Biden have created or any substantive plan to repair the damage. Instead, we were treated to a parade of lies, evasions, and a steadfast refusal to take responsibility.
