Mouse weekend
Mice are trying to come in everywhere, the house, barn, shed, camper, workshop, for the winter. It's a battle!
I emptied the dehumidifier in the camper trailer, sprayed all the external locks with a lubricant to keep them working. I found 3 mice in the trap there. I'll check the traps on the basement on Sunday, I found 3 mice there too.
Rose sprayed the side compartments in the trailer with a mint spray mice are supposed to hate it.
We got some more rain Sunday, and Monday, good for my new grass on the hill.
Lots of folks power still out from the winds on Saturday in the surrounding area. We didn't lose power thankfully!

I took the A/C out of the bedroom, it's time. Usually as soon as I do this we get a string of 80+ degree days, we can only hope.
Hit the barn and put down a couple rat traps, over to the workshop (found 3 more mice in traps) to put out more mousetraps, hit the shed as well on the way back while Rose fed the deer.
Up to the attic we go, no signs of mice up there. We set a couple traps and were done.
I haven't heard anything gnawing in in the walls for two days so we're hoping we got most/all of them.
Sunday we were in the basement shutting off the outside faucets, found a braided hose starting to drip at the house water filter, we had some we bought to replace the water heater hoses so that's replaced.
Thursday we got our first frost, 31.8 degrees this morning
Rose saw one of the cottontails on Friday! They're still here...
Jason called us Wednesday evening! It was awesome hearing from him, he sounded great! He said he didn't mind basic, he's in good shape! We're so proud of him! He'll be headed to Sheppard Air Force Base (It is the largest training base, Air Education and Training Command in TX for AIT training, hasn't decided where he wants to be stationed after that, he said someplace Colder he said! Texas is HOT! Rose said "he's wearing his BCG's", I asked what's that?, she said Military issue Birth Control Glasses. LOL...

When the FBI originally released the “final” crime data for 2022 in September 2023, it reported that the nation’s violent crime rate fell by 2.1%. This quickly became, and remains, a Democratic Party talking point to counter Donald Trump’s claims of soaring crime.
But the FBI has quietly revised those numbers, releasing new data that shows violent crime increased in 2022 by 4.5%. The new data includes thousands more murders, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults.
While the FBI claims that serious violent crime has fallen by 5.8% since Biden took office, the NCVS numbers show that total violent crime has risen by 55.4%. Rapes are up by 42%, robbery by 63%, and aggravated assault by 55% during Biden’s term. Since the NCVS started, the largest previous increase over three years was 27% in 2006, so the increase under Biden was slightly more than twice as large.

(1) These plans include “going after price-gougers.” Harris and her handlers do not acknowledge the government printing press as the cause of inflation.
(2) Kamala Harris has promised to crack down on landlords who charge “too much” for rent. The obvious question would be how much is too much. There are thousands of real estate markets in the United States. Each one is subject to the law of supply and demand. The market price for rent is different in each location. How would the Harris administration determine the proper rent amount in each market?
Harris’s proposals are nothing new. They promise the same nightmares, corruption, inflation, and business as usual that brought us to our current situation. That she would announce them in an expensive ad indicates that the Democrats have learned nothing from the past four years or the more remote history of their own governance. They believe that their base has learned nothing, either. But this election might indicate to what extent their base has absorbed the lessons of the Biden-Harris administration.
