New Boston - Weare NH "No Fly Zone" today

It got real quiet today here on the farm.  Real quiet... we're on the flight path to/from Manchester Airport so it's fairly common to have aircraft primarily passenger and cargo planes flying overhead at regular intervals.

At around 1pm it got real quiet, no planes, none at all, we'd started speculating about visiting dignitaries, or another 9/11, we'd seen the AWACS when Bush went to Kennebunkport Maine one year, and the A10 Warthogs after 9/11.

The quiet was broken, we heard the coming roar, a very loud aircraft was passing overhead, we looked up scanning quickly to see two very fast moving F15 fighter jets streaking overhead, Wow! that was cool!

Several minutes later the same thing, they were circling a several mile(s) circle North of Goffstown.  No other planes anywhere.  Dead silence then once again several minutes later they'd roar overhead.  I ran to get my camera in hopes they'd fly by again and wasn't disappointed.

A pair flew over four times and then were then joined by two additional F15's for several laps, they were going so fast they went horizon to horizon in seconds.  I only got a few photos, they flew over eight times (Rose counted).

I Googled the aircraft profile and they were definitely F15s.

Pretty exciting stuff, the airspace was quiet for an additional hour after they flew off.  Only a small plane took off from Manchester airport and flew north. We figured that was the visitor, as the F15s departed shortly after making only one pass we saw after the small aircraft flew by. After that it was an hour before regular air traffic resumed.

I don't know, I thought that Ron Paul was in Derry today, I have a hard time believing they brought all this hardware out just for Presidential Candidate Ron Paul, well just looked it up on the Union Leader he was in town Saturday.  Nothing about fly overs in the Union Leader or Channel 9 today.

Hard to believe no one else reported seeing this spectacle.

All Dogs In The Pool

Out in the gardens watering again, later than I liked, It's Really Hot Today! 87 in the shade by 11am.

Rose had a great idea, lets get the kiddie pool filled up for the dogs. Harley the Racing Lab, and Gordon had a blast swimming, they love the hose in the pool, they can't quite figure it out. We got a nice wet shower from the shaking dogs, several times. Rose finally got Harley to sit in the pool for a second, they stand in it and paw at it but till today never sat in the water.

Garden Blast 7-16

We're picking summer and zucchini squash daily now.
Cabbage is heading up, Roses netting idea seems to have kept the Cabbage Moths at bay.
Tomatoes are still few and far between although some of my plants are over 5' tall now. Broccoli is heading up too, the plants are stout this year. Kale is doing well both the Russian, and the Dwarf Blue Curled, the Russion is an experiment this year.

"CAMPING", in a TENT

Family camping, that's right I said it "CAMPING", in a TENT, sleeping bag, Coleman lantern, propane stove, coffee percolator, camping, not Rv'ing, not a hotel, Camping... Tent, sleeping bag, and yes a pillow. (Air mattress too.

The new Tent a Coleman Max 8 tent is awesome, big, set up in 20 minutes total, taped seams, shock corded poles, wall clips, lots of shelves, divider, extension cord port, end vents for circulation, an actual hinged door on the front that worked well, no more bending over to zip up from the bottom, and most importantly kept us bug and rain free.  It rained Friday evening for 3-4 hours, no problem at all for Jarrod's or our tent.

We grabbed the grand kids Jason and James L-R a day early and got our new tent setup in a great site right on a babbling brook.
Dining fly setup and the obligatory Off candle to keep the skeeters away.  They weren't that bad actually.
Rosey setup the boys activity table, puzzles, old maid, etc. over in front of the brook.

 Jason Reading
When can we cook Marshmallows?  Can I play in the water, can we go to the pool, what's to eat?   Hah...  No we're having fun...
James as Aqua Man in his Speedo suit!
James and Crystal head for the pools
Rose and Jarrod soaking up the camping ambiance.
 We're off to the pool
Jason and James decide it's a great day to dam the river.
Note how dry we stayed in our rubber boots...  NOT!
 This rock is just right
We're building a Dam Papa, come see!
See it starts here and goes way over there...
Half way across already. Sanborn Dam is well on it's way!
No, he Isn't really gonna clobber James with that rock is he?  Jason? Jason!, splash, no he isn't... just like I said. see.
Dam construction begins again in earnest the next morning.
Rose taking a much deserved break from cleaning up, setting up, wasking, clearing the table, the site, etc. waiting for morning coffee.

Yup mom, Glass Coffee Percolator just like you showed us,  a little on the strong side, forgot to let the grounds settle first for the first cup, but it all came back. Funny what you remember huh?

Gotta Love Camping can't wait to go again, maybe in a week or two.
Chloe went camping too!  She had a blast protecting the site from those all to vicious Squirrels and Chippys.
