The Christmas shopping is done! Yay! Rose took a tumble

Our Christmas shopping is done!  Yay!

Rose and I went out Christmas shopping on Saturday night, it wasn't too crowded, we were able to get a parking spot easily.  I still remember driving around for 45+ minutes at the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua trying to find a spot anywhere.

Rosie saw the bobcat last night out by the burn pile.  Watch out bunny!  The neighbor across the street up on the hill texted Rose she saw the bobcat up there as well.  I haven't see the bunny in two days now...

We need to open up another pallet of pellets last Sunday, Jason came over to help. Jason and I moved a ton of pellets, we loaded one ton on the doghouse porch and have another still on a pallet. We went upstairs and got the toilet reinstalled too, Jason is a big huge help whenever he comes over. Off to DQ for a burger then Christmas shopping, it was already raining pretty good by the time we left Manchester headed home, very thick fog too.

We're supposed to get some rough weather over the next 24 hours, possible 2-4" of rain and winds up to 50mph. We hope we don't lose power, but we'll be ready in case we do.  Power outages are a fact of life here.  We didn't lose power yay, we didn't even get the winds predicted.

Rose's sister Carol took a fall and broke a couple bones in her leg she went in for surgery on Saturday, Rose talked to her Sunday she was still out of it when she talked to her, they cut her leg open from her knee down to her ankle to repair the bones.  Carol is in rehab now, just in time for Christmas, bummer.

Though we may appreciate the labor/time-saving of modern machinery, it’s also good to be proficient in off-grid hand tool work. One day, we may not have diesel. Or electricity. Or a working tiller.  Hopeless at present, the entire system exists to make us believe we are radically individualistic even as we live in coddled babyhood with our water, electric, gas, and food threaded in from far away. We are just a matter of days away from anarchy and starvation at any time.

Our mindsets are broken.

When the cheap credit and oil and electric run low and times get tight, and the fake green revolution nonsense ends in lots of waste and broken garbage, I do think things will change and people will get back to the soil and to real community.

Even if they don’t, it’s a beautiful thing to think about. And at least we can make a start of it with our family and friends and neighbors.

I went out at 4AM on Thursday AM to see if I could get a glimpse of shooting stars the Geminid event.  I saw nothing...  maybe tomorrow night.

Saturday we're off to pick up a couple of presents to finish up shopping for the year.

Jarrod's band had a gig up in Weirs Beach Saturday night.

Changed the wipers out on Rosie's car, it was time.  The new Rain-X brand ones were the easiest "all weather" wipers I'd ever changed.

I took a walk-about around the property on this heavily overcast day, it's amazing the sheer quantity of dead standing timber.  It'd be easier to get out this time of year with the chainsaw and go at it, everything is so much easier to see with the leaves off, the weather this time of year is usually prohibitive.  We've been lucky this winter so far. I walked down to the pond outlet to find a couple dead trees laying across the outlet probably why the pond is so high, I'm OK with that.

Rose and I finished up with Christmas shopping, just in time. 

We took the dogs for a drive, Zebber was not impressed, Winston on the other hand was the perfect little angel sitting quietly looking out the window.  We'll try again today Sunday the 17th, Rose is threatening to drag me out food shopping, ugh... 

We're supposed to get some wicked weather, mostly rain and wind though on Monday

The wind was howling Monday morning around 4:30AM, it's supposed to get worse throughout the day into Tuesday.

I changed the whole house water filter, and checked the oil tank level while I was there.  We don't run the pellet stove when the weather is real bad as it'll get a little smokey if the blower isn't running if we lose power.

It rained, and rained all day, little bit of water in the basement, not too much.

UPS stopped by to drop off some packages, I asked him how the roads were as we'd been getting road closure alerts all morning due to debris and washout, he said they weren't too bad overall.

THE WINTER TRIALS BEGIN...

Rose took a tumble on Tuesday afternoon, the dogs were playing and wiped her out rounding a corner by the pellets, her ankle rolled and down she went. When I got out of work later that evening I felt the foot and it was hot to the touch, not good.  She said the pain was steadily getting worse throughout the day, I finally got her to agree to get the foot looked at and took her over to Goffstown urgent care around 7:30PM we got to the local Urgent care and hobbled into the waiting room only to be told they were booked and were closing, they sent us to Rivers-Edge in Manchester.  We only waited about an hour, they took vitals, then off to x-ray she went, we were in and out in 2 hours.  She's fractured her foot, they splinted and wrapped the foot with a fiberglass shell and said she'd need to go see Orthopedics on Thursday to have a cast/boot put on. She's feeling better on Wednesday morning, she hates crutches, hobbling about like a drunken sailor.  This'll be interesting once we get snow and ice.

The Mall is not packed, it's unusual, there are normally 3-4 lanes packed pulling into the Mall I drive by daily, folks blocking lanes, etc.  The Amazon effect?

I saw 2-300 crows out in the field by the nursing home this afternoon.

Rose & I went back to Rivers Edge to see Orthopedics to see about a boot or a cast for her foot, they did an MRI in the mean time decided a boot for now, they'll review the MRI and get back to us to see if a cast or possible surgery is necessary.  She chipped one bone and another just didn't look right the doc said.  We'll go back in two weeks.

Rose spoke to her sister Carol, she's doing better, still in rehab.

He choked domestic energy production, making us again dependent on foreign oil. Prices for gas and electricity skyrocketed. We’re expected to pay no attention to the little issue that the Biden family received millions of dollars from Russia and China, for no apparent service.

Rose and I went Christmas shopping last weekend in Manchester, we did OK.

Rose said they got a foot or more of snow north of us, they can have it.

James and Jason are coming over to get a couple pictures taken for their yearbook, crappy cloudy day, we rescheduled to Friday we'll see what we can do.

Rose and I are going back to Folgers coffee, we've been trying some of the less expensive coffees but we're both finding we're too wired to sleep at night, it's not like we're drinking coffee past 11am, but still.  Folgers is $10.99 a can now...  We're in a constant state of sticker shock every single time we go out shopping now.  Bidenomics is real, no wonder they're no longer calling it Bidenomics...

I removed the leaking toilet in the upstairs bathroom and pulled it out, we're putting in a new floor so it had to be removed.  Now I need to fight to remove a chrome cover from the water feed line.

We've yet to get a major snow event here yet, a couple inches that melts away in two days doesn't count. Thought I'd post this before my own snow diary gets posted for the year...

DIARY OF A SNOW SHOVELER:

Moved to North Dakota this fall. We heard that summers are fun and winter is beautiful. We think there is no more beautiful a place in the whole world!

December 8 - 6:00 PM It started to snow. The first snow of the season and the wife and I took our cocktails and sat for hours by the window watching the huge soft flakes drift down from heaven. It looked like a Grandma Moses print. So romantic, we felt like newlyweds again. I love snow!

December 9 - We woke to a beautiful blanket of crystal white snow covering every inch of the landscape. What a fantastic sight! Can there be a more lovely place in the whole world? Moving here was the best idea I've ever had! Shoveled for the first time in years and felt like a boy again. I did both our driveway and the sidewalks.

This afternoon the snowplow came along and covered up the sidewalks and closed in the driveway, so I got to shovel again. What a perfect life!

December 12 - The sun has melted all our lovely snow. Such a disappointment! My neighbor tells me not to worry- we'll definitely have a white Christmas. No snow on Christmas would be awful! Bob says we'll have so much snow by the end of winter, that I'll never want to see snow again. I don't think that's possible. Bob is such a nice man, I'm glad he's our neighbor.

December 14 - Snow, lovely snow! 8 inches last night. The temperature dropped to -20. The cold makes everything sparkle so. The wind took my breath away, but I warmed up by shoveling the driveway and sidewalks. This is the life! The snowplow came back this afternoon and buried everything again. I didn't realize I would have to do quite this much shoveling, but I'll certainly get back in shape this way. I wish I wouldn't huff and puff so.

December 15 - 20 inches forecast. Sold my van and bought a 4x4 Blazer. Bought snow tires for the wife's car and 2 extra shovels. Stocked the freezer. The wife wants a wood stove in case the electricity goes out. I think that's silly. We aren't in Alaska, after all.

December 16 - Ice storm this morning. Fell on my ass on the ice in the driveway putting down salt. Hurt like hell. The wife laughed for an hour, which I think was very cruel.

December 17 - Still way below freezing. Roads are too icy to go anywhere. Electricity was off for 5 hours. I had to pile the blankets on to stay warm. Nothing to do but stare at the wife and try not to irritate her. Guess I should've bought a wood stove, but won't admit it to her. God! I hate it when she's right. I can't believe I'm freezing to death in my own living room.

December 20 - Electricity's back on, but had another 14 inches of the damn stuff last night. More shoveling! Took all day. The damn snowplow came by twice. Tried to find a neighbor kid to shovel, but. they said they're too busy playing hockey. I think they're lying. Called the only hardware store around to see about buying a snow blower and they're out. Might have another shipment in March. I think they're lying. Bob says I have to shovel or the city will have it done and bill me. I think he's lying.

December 22 - Bob was right about a white Christmas because 13 more inches of the white shit fell today, and it's so cold, it probably won't melt till August. Took me 45 minutes to get all dressed up to go out to shovel and then I had to piss. By the time I got undressed, pissed and dressed again, I was too tired to shovel. Tried to hire Bob-who has a plow on his truck-for the rest of the winter, but he says he's too busy. I think the asshole is lying.

December 23 - Only 2 inches of snow today. And it warmed up to 0. The wife wanted me to decorate the front of the house this morning. What is she, nuts?!! Why didn't she tell me to do that a month ago. She says she did but I think she's lying.

December 24 - 6 inches - Snow packed so hard by snowplow, l broke the shovel. Thought I was having a heart attack. If I ever catch the son of a bitch who drives that snow plow, I'll drag him through the snow by his balls and beat him to death with my broken shovel. I know he hides around the corner and waits for me to finish shoveling, and then he comes down the street...at a 100 miles an hour and throws snow all over where I've just been! Tonight the wife wanted me to sing Christmas carols with her and open our presents...but I was too busy watching for the damn snowplow.

December 25 - Merry f---ing Christmas! 20 more inches of the damn slop tonight - snowed in. The idea of shoveling makes my blood boil. God, I hate the snow! Then the snowplow driver came by asking for a donation and I hit him over the head with my shovel. The wife says I have a bad attitude. I think she's a fricking idiot. If I have to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" one more time, I'm going to feed her through a chipper shredder.

December 26 - Still snowed in. Why the hell did I ever move here? It was all HER idea. She's really getting on my nerves.

December 27 - Temperature dropped to -30 and the pipes froze; plumber came after 14 hours of waiting for him, he only charged me $4,400 to replace all my pipes.

December 28 - Warmed up to above -20. Still snowed in. The BITCH is driving me crazy!!!

December 29 - 10 more inches. Bob says I have to shovel the roof or it could cave in. That's the silliest thing I ever heard. How dumb does he think I am?

December 30 - Roof caved in. I beat up the snow plow driver, and now he is suing me for a million dollars, not only for the beating I gave him, but also for trying to shove the broken snow shovel up his ass. The wife went home to her mother. Nine more inches predicted.

December 31 - I set fire to what's left of the house. No more shoveling.

January 8 - Feel so good. I just love those little white pills they keep giving me. Why am I tied to the bed ???

Lots of changes at work a lot of new employees, a lot of employee moves to make more room for manufacturing, once again we're moving 24 or so people up to the back mezzanine area this is the third time we've moved folks up there only to move them again a year or so later. I lost a guy in Wisconsin, he retired after close to 20 years with us.  His replacement starts next week.

      Below is an important chart that somehow slipped by EPA’s “consensus” censorship squad. It is a map of all 1,066 weather stations across the United States. The change in the number of hot days for that station are ID’d as increasing (red), stayed the same (blank) or decreasing (blue).
  
      A total of 863 stations, or 81%, reported either a decrease or no change in the number of hot days! Any guesses on how long this map will remain up on their site?

I do not believe for one second that China is building Nuclear to get away from dirty coal. I think it is building nuclear because its military-industrial complex needs more power, and dirty coal isn’t enough. Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Ugh, our kitchen window is leaking, it's dripping down inside the kitchen, gonna have to see what's causing this.

Rose made a perfect Thanksgiving meal, everything was awesome, the 22lb. Turkey was 100% cooked when we took it out of the oven, very moist, you just never know with turkeys. She made stuffing, with raisins and walnuts, fantastic.

The side dishes were all good, Crystal made green bean casserole it too was  awesome, she said I could have the leftover casserole, all mine!

The pies, Cherry, and Pumpkin, cookies and brownies were a perfect ending to a great meal. Rose made some oatmeal, chocolate chip and almond cookies I really like.

We hit Ace Hardware in town for Black Friday that was as far as I was prepared to venture out to.

We drove up to Manchester last weekend, there appeared to be a couple new stores over where the Macy's used to be.  What a driving and parking mess, the place was packed, all I wanted to do is see what the new stores were... It was a cluster, the kind where you could feel your blood pressure rising just trying to get out of there, we didn't even get out of the car. 

Saturday I need to replace the gasket on the front door of the pellet stove, it's sending ash dust into the dining room, it went well, seems to have cut down on the dust.

Jarrod's band "Latchkey" played at Riley's Place in Milford Saturday night, appetizers and a couple great sets by the band, place was nearly full.

To the contrary, this particular con game is part of a long-running, elaborate scam to keep the Deep State in power and leave the populace deluded, distracted, and incapable of demanding accountability, transparency, and decency from the government and its cohorts.

This makes them look more out-of-touch than ever. Every person who shops in a grocery store, fills up a car with gas, or pays basic monthly bills like a mortgage or rent and utilities, and pays credit card bills knows that everything is higher than it was in the previous administration, pre-COVID-19. This is almost as dumb as when the Biden administration bragged about a Fourth of July cook-out costing 16 cents less in 2021. They think you are stupid. They think you will believe whatever they say.  

The nation is drowning in debt, crippled by a slowing economy, overrun by militarized police, swarming with surveillance, besieged by endless wars and a military-industrial complex intent on starting new ones, and riddled with corrupt politicians at every level of government.

All the while, we’re arguing over which corporate puppet will be given the honor of stealing our money, invading our privacy, abusing our trust, undermining our freedoms, and shackling us with debt and misery for years to come.

To make Republicans look bad, Democrats have to lie, while to make the Democrats look bad, all Republicans have to do is point out the obvious and the truth.

    House Speaker Mike Johnson has released over 40,000 hours of J6 footage including capitol police body cam footage to the public in the interests of transparency, an action which should have been taken years ago. Each new piece of footage only confirms what many Americans already understood – That the few scant minutes of available video recycled by the media paint a false picture of what really happened. Although it had never been easier to cheat electorally than in 2020, our thoroughly despicable media informs us no one cheated! It was a miracle, an article of faith that you’d better take to heart if you know what’s good for you.

As for the worst that could happen, you could be a female athlete competing in violent or grueling sports like rugby, boxing, martial arts, track or swimming, and find yourself matched up against a man pretending to be a woman! And you know in your heart, you’re about to get your brains beat out, either literally or figuratively. You also realize that, should you withdraw, you will be called transphobic and threatened in every possible way (see Gaines, Riley and Rowling, J.K.). No, it’s perfectly fine in today’s world for mentally-ill men, with or without their original equipment, to dominate women’s sports. Just buck-up, buttercup, and take your beating like a man, er . . . woman.

And whatever you do, don’t question “climate change”. No, the fact that meteorologists can’t accurately predict whether it will rain tomorrow, much less predict what the weather will be like in a hundred years, should not disturb you. Ignore the increasingly corpulent heads of our armed forces prattling on about climate change being our biggest enemy, as opposed to, say, China, Russia, North Korea, or Iran. And look the other way at the hypocrisy of fat-cat millionaires traveling to climate change symposiums in their gas-guzzling private jets and yachts. When it comes to climate, “We’re doomed!” is the only correct view. And you’d better not forget it.

George Orwell correctly predicted a world where wrongthink could doom a person, and that’s the world we now live in. Either learn all the right views and spout them publicly---lawn signs are a nice touch---or have a steel front door installed.

That’s not the only stupid action the Left has taken in recent days. The synthetic global warming panic has been largely a success story for left-wing environmentalists. Despite an almost complete lack of legitimate evidence, leftist Greens have, through incessant repetition by way of a compliant media, succeeded in terrifying a public which had little or no understanding of the topic. At the same time, they have corrupted, through manipulating the grant process, an entire scientific field and most researchers working within it (climatology can no longer be considered a science, and nothing worthwhile will come out of it for decades at least). Conservatives, as is often case involving fields outside their comfort zone, have fumbled the debate, arguing on the exact terms set by the Greens (for instance largely accepting the semantic switcheroo from “global warming” to “climate change.”)

Speaker Mike Johnson is ripped by liberal media for his “extreme Christian nationalist” views and for his belief in covenant marriage.  That is to say, Johnson believes that it is necessary to pare back progressive spending in face of ruinous government debt before the country is bankrupted, and in his personal life, he believes that marriage really is a matter of “’til death do us part.”  So that’s extreme?
