Dusk Does

A bunch of does out this evening, at least 3 that we saw along with a couple fawns. Pics are not that good, it was really dark... When I say dusk it it really DARK, I punched the ISO up to 640 and was still getting 6/10 second shutter speed. Fawns were jetting around as usual, way to fast for the shutter speeds I am at. Only way to improve the light is to get a faster lens like a 70-200mm F2.8 lens... Hah, $2500. The lens I am shooting with a Canon 17-85mm F4-5.6 is a great walk about lens, it simply isn't up to the task of shooting low light shots. Have my eye on a Sigma or maybe a Tamron at about 1/5 the price, we'll see.

Flipper goes to war - WWW.THEDAILY.COM

Really? So it's not so much Sci-Fi... Oh Good, just what I needed, another reason to stay out of the water.

It's Harvest Time in New Hampshire

Harvest time means picking, blanching and freezing or canning.  It had cooled off just enough, 88 here today.  Today was a freezer day, everything had to be blanched before packing, and putting up in the freezer.  We picked some nice summer squash this morning, broccoli (I have to watch this one better, we almost missed the perfect picking time) beans we picked yesterday and a couple peppers too.

I'm off to check the berries...

Lip Smackin' Good

Rosie caught a doe at the block.  Lickin' her lips, it was that good!

The yard is Blooming

June Bugs are Buzzing at 8:30am

It's going to be a scorcher today with tomorrow being even hotter, glad I took the day off, 82 degrees at 8:30 this morning.  Supposed to hit 95+ with a heat index of 105 Degrees.  Gardens are watered early, and the barn is cleaned.  Now to relax!  We have to pick vegetables tonight, peppers, beans, and squash are ready.

Stay cool!

Finally got the fawn pics.

Today was a hot one, Big Ears brought out her fawn this morning for a minute before disappeared into the woods before I could get there with my camera, they were out again early this afternoon (pics that are here) and then again late this evening. This evening dusk, the fawn was barely visible out jumping, and bopping around running back and forth in front of the fence.

We've seen the fawn several times, just not when I'm around or ready with my camera. Enjoy.
