It's a spring thing...

It's a spring thing...

We managed to get the boat out of the carport last weekend, I got the trolling motor battery charged up just in case we're able to get out on Opening day Trout on Saturday. Didn't happen I got sick, sigh...  Sinus infection, my head is disconnected from the rest of me and I'm a bit wobbly... Feeling better as of Tuesday.

Martin house in the morning

Late Friday we got those wicked winds that hit us every spring, we've lost Cabanas, a barn roof, workshop roof, and yesterday it was the run in shed roof.  Up I went up to nail down the roofing that had flipped off.  I need to get some roofing cement to glue that back edge down good.

The yard is finally getting some color
Bumblebees and Honey bees are back in numbers too.

My Stihl Chainsaw fired right up, so I was able to get some Rose of Sharon shrubs cut back that were threatening to overtake the vegetable garden. We loaded up the trailer and hauled a load out to the brush pile. I moved the remainder of the pile on Saturday when I wasn't sleeping or just vegging.

We're repairing an old wind chime we bought decades ago, the string for the chime tubes was rotting out.

We've seen a fox a couple times this week, see him running away from the deer-yard above?

Rosie repaired some old yard flags, that were tattered, she sewed them up just like new.

The trailers for the lawn tractor are a debacle with tires right now, 3 bad tires, ugh, between the two trailers I was able to get two good tires for one of them.

Saturday morning Rosie was sitting on the back porch and she watched a fox right below the Martin house take out a mouse or a mole, it was jumping pouncing and circling, after it caught whatever it was looking for more.  She said it was a muted brown color.  The dogs were out but came running into the house when called, Rose figures she's got pups to feed, being that careless right in the back yard in front of her and the dogs.

Remember when playing with a balloon like this was the most fun you ever had!

I have some wild roses threatening the back hill I need to get cut and out. Maybe today,  maybe not, we'll see how the head feels.

No use complaining, though. We just need to spend our paper trash money on real things before it’s worthless. THINK POSITIVELY!  We can blow it on real things...

I found this cartoon particularly funny!

 POLITICS AND OTHER CRAP!

Creepy Joe at it again...

Those who dared to question vaccines were branded as heretics in various forms and promised no return to normal, which wasn’t looking like much of an incentive with Democrats and Pfizer running things.

A concern proved correct when the FDA and Pfizer were ordered to release documents that prove the EUA drug never worked. It was never safe. And if you got it, you could be more likely to get COVID (and probably flu in general since it’s all COVID now) for the rest of your life.

If you got two, three, or four jabs, you might be a flu magnet. Not so bad when you are young but as you age?

"I hope our wisdom will grow with our power, and teach us, that the less we use our power the greater it will be."

Putin Has More Control over the US Economy than Biden, and Democrats Can’t Stop It?

Democrats have complete control of the Federal Government. All of it. And you are admitting that Vladimir Putin has more power over the US economy than you do, and you can’t stop it.

It begs the question, not so much of collusion but complete inadequacy. Incompetence.

April showers and Tree Swallows are back

 April Showers 2022

The first Tree Swallow scout came in today...April 10th,  8th-12th of April every single year!  We'll have 6 or so in a few days.

Strangely enough the Gold-Finches came back early this year too.

We were at the feed store Sunday and picked up seed potatoes for us and Jarrod. Rose got her Zinnia seeds as well.

I was out with the dogs two nights this week, I did some night crawling in the front yard, flashlight on low tiptoeing around there were lots of worms "night crawlers" up on the late dew dampened grass. The trick is to grab the worm before the bright part of your light hits them, you see the slime on them glinting in the light. I managed to grab a few before they slithered back into their hole in the ground, I dropped them in the garden but fishing season is upon us too, so I'll start saving them... Opening day for trout ponds is next Saturday the 23rd!

Rose is busy, busy clearing out the back of the house perennial beds.  Pulling tables and chairs from their long winter nap in the barn.  She's got some new crafts that are pretty cool too that she's working on. I'll post pics when she's done!

Our owl wind sculpture is back up in the front yard as are some of the other wind powered sculptures, it's good to see those again.

I got home from work last Monday determined to get taxes done, nope, I finally finished up today Sunday 4/16.  Off to the Post Office today to get it postmarked...

There was deer forage seed to spread out in the field, and Bug B gone in the field and yard to keep the ticks at bay.  And as long as the spreader was out of the barn there was grass seed to spread on the front and back lawns that are quite bare right now. $39 per bag for grass seed...   Yikes, and that's the small bag.

Our Pussy Willows have gone by now...
Lichen on the pines

We're off to Home Depot today, the ice this winter came crashing off the roof and smashed the light on the front of the kitchen. More tick Bug B Gone for the yard.  And a few other things.

POLITICKING

Our retarded government is talking about requiring all chickens to be vaccinated and no backyard poultry either...   Think that through. Chicks are available, prices are similar to last year, $399 each for broilers.

Biden's amazing economy!

Gas is $4+ a gallon.
The border is in chaos.
Inflation is soaring.
Groceries are expensive.
Crime is up.

Sunday Comics...

Yeah lets talk about Trumps grab her by the *ussy comment...

It's getting crazy expensive out there...  I saw $8.99 1Lb. propane bottles today that's for 1 not 4...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM 2022

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Germany Increases Food Prices 20-50% Today

The FDA Announces Sixth COVID Booster

Raising the taxes on oil companies raises their COST of doing business. Staying in business requires businesses to set their prices higher than their costs. So, this would be a means of raising taxes on the consumer, while keeping their anger focused on "Big Oil", rather than "Big Government".

Bumbling Joe continues to be propped up by the MSM, his “gaffes” are getting worse and worse. He seems to have forgotten that you don’t say the quiet part out loud, and some of his pronouncements are putting our allies into uncomfortable places.

Democrats broke a host of state laws to allow improper ballots to install a decaying derelict in the White House.

The great majority of Americans have heard the Dems loud and clear and don’t like it. Why else would MSNBC report that 71% of Americans think we’re on the wrong track?

The destruction that Democrats have unleashed on America is mind-boggling. Who would possibly imagine that doubling gas prices would gain votes? Sanctioning Russia while simultaneously sanctioning our domestic energy industry is beyond insanity. And it has been done with such rapidity that even voters with short memory can see it. Inflation around ten percent according to the Everyday Price Index is hitting poor Americans in the wallet.

Hah,  Stay safe out there...
