Fall back
Fall back, ugh... Time to change the clocks back this morning. This just isn't helpful.
I checked the pond
water level, (it's a good indicator of the water table) still low, not bad yet, but low. I had placed a low water
stake in the pond a couple years ago the last time our well ran dry and
we have water 8 feet of water from that stake to the bank so we're OK for now.
Rose and I went out to dinner and picked up a Powerball and Mega Millions ticket, you never know, wish us luck.
I heard Walmart is going to cap the prices on Thanksgiving items at last years prices for turkey and the fixins. That's a great idea, with the ridiculous prices of everything.
Local MB has been out of dog food and the canned dog food is over a buck and a half a can now, wow. We drove to Tractor supply, they had dry dog and pouches we feed them so we stocked up more.
Jarrod's band The Blue Monkeys played a gig up at Weirs beach Saturday, they have a fill in drummer, they play up in Croyden on Sunday, his arm (he tore his bicep) is still healing but will start PT next week with small weights.
I heard on the radio heating oil is $6.00 per gallon now, glad we paid the extra to lock in at a high but lower price, gasoline is going back up again $3.67 locally a gallon.
Sunday, I was up early this AM, knees bothering me, crazy weather, went out with the dogs, nice warm breezes, it is 63 degrees. Peepers and crickets were out, and there were birds chirping.
The last perennial bed...
We cleaned up the
last perennial bed Saturday, "well mostly Rose", I got rid of the big
stuff in the bed, she's more familiar with all of the plants and what
can be chopped to the ground and what comes back on itself. I did a bit
of mowing, I grabbed the ladder and hung a fall flag up for Rose on
the front of the house, changed the batteries in the Blink camera, and
put another LED light on the south side of the house while the ladder
was handy. We're almost done with fall/winter preps I think, we keep
saying that but every week there's still a list as long as my arm it
seems.
VOTE, VOTE, VOTE...
Sorry but that "massive red wave" is going to be flattened out by mail
in voting, ballot harvesting and Dominion Voting Systems. You will be
able to call the midterms a lot of things. Honest will NOT be one of
those things.
Powerball grand prize grows to an estimated $1.6 billion for the next drawing, which is Saturday.
Wow. Angry, creepy, sleepy Dementia Joe gave another one of his atrocious
Sieg heil! speeches on Wednesday
blaming MAGA Republicans for his failures, and the
wannabe tyrant could not have come off more revolting.
It is hard enough to deal with
everyday problems without also having to keep an eye on your own government to
see what it's going to throw at you.
Keep in mind that Americans have built-in smoke/BS detectors. They know the
border is not secure, they know that gas was not $5/gallon when Biden
was elected, they know that our nation is not systemically racist, they
know that the Inflation Reduction Act has nothing to do with inflation
reduction. Assertions from on high on such matters don’t convince anyone
that they are true, they simply remind us not to believe what our
elected leaders say.
Trump, “You can hate him but you can’t hate everybody who likes him.”
“We’ve been hearing this claim about cutting Social Security and
Medicare for decades, but in recent election cycles there haven’t been
any serious proposals from Republicans to touch those programs. Donald
Trump ruled it out and nobody is proposing it now. It’s an old saw used
by Democrats when they are in trouble.”
If nothing else, Democrats certainly are the grand masters of the BIG Lie!
