It's a busy time here on the homestead

It's a busy time here on the homestead

Hoping the wind on Monday dries out the property some.

Rose started the Lawn tractor up and saw the bunny scoot out of a nearly bush.

Crocuses are finally blooming on Wednesday, Rose is working on the blackberry bed and snowball bushes today.  The beds are looking great!

SPAM used to require you to use a key to open it too...

Winston and Zebulon are having a blast this week, running and playing as Rose works out in the yard. The mud is mostly gone and the grass (what there is of it) is starting to green up.  They are going to bed early every day this week all tuckered out.

Purple Finches arrived on Thursday.

I was almost killed on the way home from work on Friday. I saw a white pickup come to a dead stop in traffic at the Rt. 101 intersection in Bedford. I was in the right lane beside him as I crossed over 101 when he just stopped, what the hell is he doing I thought, I drove on.  Up past Market Basket I saw the truck pull into the breakdown lane a couple times in my rear view mirror. I was stopped at the next light and this truck is coming up behind me fast, not slowing down, closer and closer, crap I'm gonna get hit I thought for sure it was over, I gripped the steering wheel as tight as I could, I had nowhere to go and waited, I heard screeching tires, the guy jerked right into the breakdown lane at the last second veering to my right just missing me. He went by me, taking a right, one second later a cruiser with flashing lights sped by me following him, Yay!!!  Cop, right place, right time!  Go Git him...  Scared the crap out of me... Not the way I wanted my weekend to start for sure. Someone was watching out me for sure.

Rose thinks the bear came in, the suet feeders were opened up though not destroyed and are now empty.

The swallows are due in any day now.

It's a yard work weekend, we're cleaning up the poplar down by the barn today.  My chainsaw was being ornery, didn't want to start after sitting all winter, 20 or so pulls later it finally sputtered to life... Up onto the stepladder to trim some of the branches that hang too low in the snow. I dragged 3 trailer loads of brush to the burn pile.  Rose cut all the Sumacs out with loppers, and she got the DR brush trimmer and cut out the brambles on the side of the shop and the driveway hill, it looks great now. While Rose did all that I cut another 12' off a dead pine into manageable pieces along the road, loaded it into the trailer and off again with 3 more loads to the burn pile, there's still 20' or so of it left all tangled in vines and pucker-brush. I lost my glasses throwing an unwieldy piece of log into the pile, I did find them though hanging low on a branch down by my feet. I mowed a couple sections of field as I made trips back and forth to the field. Rose trimmed back the wild Rose in the driveway while I raked the dirt and leaves the plow pushed into the perennial bed, I got the bed cleared of debris and took a full trailer load off to dump it all off the ledge by the pond.

All the Crocuses are blooming in the yard, Rose figures we're a good 5 weeks ahead of normal for mid March.

Bug B Gone tick stuff needs to get put down, one of my guys at work said he's already pulled 6 ticks off his dog in March, yikes...  I checked we were smart last year and bought 2 bags of the stuff.

It's raining on Sunday St. Paddy's Day in the morning, Corned Beef and Cabbage, carrots, and potatoes!  Yum!  I can't wait!

I re-filled some of the dog bones with peanut butter for the doggos.  Keeps the occupied for an hour or so.

Rose is off doing some food shopping, I'll peeled the carrots while she was gone, took a walk out, fed the deer and cut some pussy willows for her.

Corned beef and cabbage was awesome, the cabbage took longer than we expected but it was still great!

Biden’s Economy

Bidenflation has devastated the average American. Prices on food are so high, the media and other Leftist refuse to provide real numbers. So, we either get deflated numbers or they omit items that will skew the numbers in the wrong direction to suit their narrative.

The Heritage Foundation tracks Bidenflation here, and the numbers are shocking.

  •     Disposable income down 7.5 percent,
  •     Home ownership affordability down 36.3 percent
  •     Credit card debt up 38.7 percent
  •     Monthly savings down 79.3 percent

The Democratic National Committee Senators voted AGAINST having this sentence on the census questionnaire. ‘Are you a US Citizen’? This allows for all illegal (undocumented) ‘residents’ to have a voice in our elections – just what the Democratic National Committee wanted all along. They continue to strike down all Voter ID requirements.

Biden unveils massive $7.3T budget with $5.5T in tax hikes, plans for ‘highest burden’ in US history

Dollar Tree, which owns Family Dollar, announced it will close 600 Family Dollar stores in the first half of 2024 and 370 stores within the next several years.

From time to time, we warn about Social Security and Medicare becoming insolvent and why that’s happening. In short, when Social Security was launched, there were 16 workers for every retiree. Today, there are three, and it will soon be two. Similar ratios apply to Medicare.

There has been ZERO job-creation for US-born workers since June 2018… Zero.

All ~3.9 million is from immigrants.

Violence and crime are already completely out of control all over the United States.  In fact, you definitely wouldn’t want to be caught in the streets when hordes of our lawless young people are running wild.  If things are this bad already, what is going to happen if the election in November does not go the way that leaders on the left want and they give the green light to millions of radicals to cause widespread chaos all over America?  I think that we got a small preview of what this could look like during the riots of 2020.  Unfortunately, since that time the open border policies of the Biden administration have allowed millions of extremely desperate people to come pouring into this country.  The stage is being set for civil unrest on a scale that we have never seen before, and it certainly isn’t going to take much to push our society over the edge.

🇺🇸BIDEN: "We have among the lowest inflation rates of any country in America!"

“Is there no limit to how criminal the American government is?”

“This is treacherous actions against U.S. citizens,” said another. “Attempting to implement UN ‘migration rights’ with no respect for nation’s sovereignty. End UN membership. Toss them out of the U.S. Lockdown ALL borders.”

Still, others wondered how the Biden regime gets away with operating in such a lawless manner while “nobody does anything” about it.

‘This is pure treachery, and it has to be stopped,” said another. “They are using taxpayer money to pay the way for illegals to get here.”

“Another reason NOT to extend the continuing resolution,” said another, referring to how Congress has been funding the budget for what seems like forever.

This is just another kick to the collective groin of American taxpayers.
