Fixing the yard hill:

Tuesday we're got 8 yards of 3/4" crushed stone, and 18 yards of loam delivered to fix a lot of sloped areas we've been talking about fixing in the yard for years.  Some areas are a bit too steep to mow without fear of tipping over and the hill we drive up in the winter has a slope we'd like fixed.  We hope it'll be enough to fix what we want to do, if not we'll have to get more.

Friday we have a Kubota Tracked Skid Steer Loader coming, out first big to me anyway piece of equipment that we're renting for the weekend to move all that gravel and loam material.   Should be a blast!  Looking like a little rain on Saturday, but Sunday it's supposed to be nice, we have the equipment for two days.

I'm going to have fun! 

 

Our gravel and loam was delivered on Tuesday, he couldn't back the dump trucks up the hill, not the ideal spot but we can work with it.

Rose and I shoveled loam into the lawn tractor trailer and went around filling numerous holes the dogs dug up, we covered a bunch of exposed tree roots while we were at it.

 

I sprayed some of the Trumpet vine down at the barn and Virginia creeper that's growing in several places and sprayed some wild rose down at the driveway.

 

We replaced all the smoke detector batteries this weekend, Rose replaced most of them while I entertained the dogs out front with a few tennis balls, Zeb doesn't like the high pitched beeping they make when we test them, we picked up two more 9v's for the last two carbon monoxide detectors. It's getting cold in the mornings, it was 46 degrees Wednesday AM.

 

We still have a long to-do list.. There’s a lot of winter prep left to do, we have most of the essentials ready.  We'll pick up more sand for the walkways and a few other things.

We'll give the pellet a good cleaning and replace a couple (door and top) gaskets next weekend.

Rose worked Friday clearing out the shed in preps for putting the ACs away for the year.
