Two weeks ago... Not a lot of snow melting here, we have plenty of mud still, mud'll get a lot worse, it's still too windy to put straw down in the really bad areas.
Birdhouses went up on the front and side of the barn, they look great, 32 degrees, a freezing cold aluminum ladder, and the brutal winds on Saturday didn't help much. We put one more house up out behind the shop in the field, still a foot of snow there. The birds are already pairing up and sitting claiming houses.
Off to the shop to get a Dremel tool to grind down the back door latch it isn't lining up and the dogs keep pushing the door open. I got that fixed so it stay's latched now.
St. Paddy's day is coming up on the Monday the 17th, one of my all time favorites Corned Beef and Cabbage, carrots, potato and onion. I can smell it cooking already.
Rose took down old birdhouses and hung a bunch of new ones in the front yard.
Rose said the sparrows are already fighting to get to the new houses.

A new female sparrow has taken up residence on the back porch over the past 2 weeks, we'll see if she stays there over the summer. We haven't named her yet, we'll have to see if she sticks around
Friday after work I stopped and did a little food shopping, picked up a Corned Beef, swore we had several in the freezer, NOPE??? We'd bought several a while back 2-3 years ago for $2+ to $4 should'a bought 10 at that price after St Paddy's day, unfortunately now they averaged $17-$24 yikes, I found the smallest one in the bin at $13 still horrible but, I do love my corned beef and cabbage once a year!
We are building the last of the 40 birdhouses on Saturday, and by we I mean Rose, she has 36 birdhouses up already! I designed and built two Saturday!
We took a walk Saturday out in the field, fed the deer, checked on the pussy willows, surveyed the winter damage, a few more large trees had come down in the storms then off to build a couple birdhouses, Rose joined me to keep me company which was nice she cleaned up and sorted screws while I worked.
I mentioned we'd melted enough snow to get the Lawn tractor out, she agreed and we were off to the barn, I turned the key and it tried to start but it didn't, the second turn of the key and it fired up, happy, happy!
I worked puddling The act of draining water off the driveway by creating draining streams out of the main body... in the driveway that was one big puddle getting the water to drain off.
We were off to Mom & Dads on Sunday, we picked up grain and dog food, we laughed at Tractor supply already having all kinds of fruit trees, and raspberry bushes for sale. They had the chicken pens with heat lights on no chicks in the pens, I asked them about it, she said they'd already has 3 batches of chicks and sold out as soon as they got them in.

Trump-led Republican Party is doing what Trump promised — winning — whereas the seemingly rudderless Democrat Party is directionless and foundering.
