EASTER SUNDAY

 EASTER SUNDAY

Ive been adding to the blog for a while just haven't had time to publish lately.

The critters are active, the Tree Swallows came in on Wednesday, we heard the Woodcocks fluttering about and reeeping in the evening, calling back and forth in the field, we heard peepers on the way home from our annual jaunt to Hayward's in Milford for a couple hot dogs and a chocolate frappe.

The Phoebe stopped by on Thursday morning

Friday evening we went over to Mom's for her birthday bringing a small cake.

Rose read about a G5-7 CME that was supposed to bring Northern light all the way down to Pennsylvania, unfortunately we were cloudy so nothing to see here.

Up at 4:10AM Saturday, letting the dogs out, i could hear the roar of the dam 1/2 mile away in the background, and the woodcocks quietly reeping in the dark calling to one another, no peepers here yet, but soon.

I walked the front yard to do poop patrol, 3 more shovel loads.

Saturday 4/4 Rose and I put up the new Gourd Martin house out in the field. Jarrod got it for Rose, it sits 15 feet in the air you can see the white gourds up on the pole dwarfing the birdhouse below.

We put up some solar LED lights up in the Apple tree and Blueberry bush in the field.

It was a warm 51 degrees in the morning when we put up the Martin house, but by late afternoon it was windy and cold 43 degrees.

EASTER SUNDAY

1st Tick of the season!  Rose found one on her.

Jarrod, Crystal and James came over for Easter dinner, ham, potato, carrots, green bean casserole via Crystal, Rose made a cherry cheesecake, got to taste the blackberry/raspberry cider Jarrod is making, it'll be great once it ferments for a bit longer.

Snow here is almost all gone, even the snow plow piles are about to be gone.

The well situation is much better, our pond is up at least 4 feet, the pole I had planted at the ponds lowest point showed 4 feet of post above the water level has disappeared below the water's surface.

Monday April 6th our peepers still aren't awake yet.

Purple finches were in the back yard Monday AM too.

I finished up my Taxes Monday evening.

Started snowing at 6AM Tuesday morning.  Yuk!  We got 1.5" most was melted by the end of the day.

The Goldfinches came back Wednesday around noon. Turkey walked through not stopping in the deer yard, the male turkey was on a mission!

The Tree Swallows have been checking out the new gourd houses, circling and landing on the top rails.

Rose went to town on the yard Thursday, the yard beds are all raked, weeded and cut back looking amazing, it's definitely going to be a bark mulch year.  We'll need to get a truckload, several years ago we got in 13 Yards of mulch and still had to buy a bunch of bagged mulch to finish the back beds.

Friday Rose mowed out in the cove, there's so much to do.

Saturday we cleared more in the cove, chainsaws taking out the big stuff, lots of downed brush, I mowed a bit, so much chaff needed to be mowed to allow the grass through. One of the lawn trailers rotted out, luckily we have another one we swapped out.  Snowblower was put away. We're so sore...

The lilacs are budding getting ready.

The field is looking more green than brown now
The Forsythias are starting to bloom
Rhubarb is poking up out of the ground
Daffs have just started to bloom on the south side of the house
LOL, The deer ate almost all of the rhododendrons, the really stripped them almost bare.
The daffs under the "Harry Lauder's Walking Stick" will open next week
New Solar LED lighting at the front door

Sunday I'll rake the dirt, leaves and gravel the plow pushed onto the front lawn.

I took Tuesday off, we finally shoveled up the gravel left on the lawn from the plow, and mowed Lake Chloe by the birch trees in the field before the rains came.  We has a wicked storm come through in the evening some great lightning and thunder.

Thursday Rose put up more Solar LED lighting around the house.

6 Tree Swallows were flying about trying to decide which birdhouse they'd move in to.

We've got baby cottontail rabbits running around!

Saturday the 18th was a work day, we took the satellite dish off the house removing all the cables and caulking all the holes. We setup a couple more solar LED lights at the front door and by the kitchen.  We cleared 40' of bank removing brush down to bare ground, took two big tarp loads of the brush out to the bank.

I walked the front yard to do poop patrol, 3 more shovel loads, jeesh.

We hadn't fed the deer yet I just mentioned that we hadn't and rose says oh here they come now... She ran out to feed them real quick.

We went back out at 9PM and adjusted the mode on the LED lights so the are dim until someone walks underneath them then they go bright.

Yup NH still in a severe drought!

More ticks, I found another crawling up my arm on Saturday.

Dem Rep Jason Crow says he and Democrats are making "lists of people” to go after in the Trump administration.
  • “You will be judged. You cannot escape it forever."
  • These very same people have looked into every legacy media camera available for 15 months to tell you how nation-destroying it is that the Trump admin is 'targeting political enemies'
So, you must ask: why does the American Left, as personified in the Democratic Party, so desperately want our country to lose?

Look at the Modern Democrat Party (TMDP) Platform today:

  •      Transgenders in girls’ sports.
  •      Transgenders in girls’ locker rooms.
  •      Defund Homeland Security to assist Iranian and Islamic terrorism.
  •     Close American airports rather than provide Airport Security and deprive TSA workers of their wages, thus causing chaos throughout the airline system.
  •      No Voter Identification (but make sure you have your driver’s license with you if you attend a Democrat Town Hall).
  •     Under Biden, more than 15 million illegals were allowed across the USA’s southern border and dispersed across our Country.
  •     Using American taxpayers’ money totaling in the billions of dollars to accommodate people who illegally entered the USA.
  •     Their “Trump Derangement Syndrome” along with their far-left extremist beliefs have them openly hating America and going against providing national security for our  Country.

How the Party of Harry Truman, Adlai Stevenson, John F. Kennedy, and Hubert Humphrey descended into these horrendous policies is inexplicable and beyond my comprehension.  Is it any wonder Ronald Reagan switched from the Democrat to the Republican Party?

A secrets service agent on Jill Biden’s detail shot himself in the butt while escorting the former first lady through Philadelphia International Airport on Friday. His gun fell out of his holster, and he had a negligent discharge re-holstering the gun.

Ceasefire talks collapse as Iran rejects U.S. demands; regional mediators scramble for alternatives

As it turns out, the fraud is a feature, not a bug, and the further left you go, the worse it appears to get. Rather than root it out in the interest of balancing the budget through fiscal responsibility and thoughtful management, or (God forbid) consolidating or reducing the government workforce to reduce overhead, they raise taxes.

A sitting Democratic senator just admitted what conservatives have known for years: Trump Derangement Syndrome now runs the Democratic Party, making bipartisan cooperation virtually impossible even when national interests are at stake.

Story Snapshot

  • Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) declared “Trump Derangement Syndrome” governs the Democratic Party during podcast interview
  • Pennsylvania senator criticized his party’s inability to work with Trump on any issue without facing internal backlash
  • Fetterman cited bipartisan military operations and everyday issues as examples where Democrats reflexively oppose Trump
  • Statement highlights growing Democratic leadership vacuum and intensifies intra-party tensions heading into 2026 midterms
