October 12th

Sunday, morning started with a nice sunrise, then cooled and it got cloudy

We'll work on clearing the trees for the solar array mount today so it's ready for concrete into the post holes, I'll set the poles into the ground and finally begin moving the solar panels.

Rose's Star with lights was mounted on the back of the house.

Eight 3-5" willow trees, along with a 7" birch that fell down in the spring, 4 loads of brush to the burn pile later, we're beat! At least the rain held off until we finished!

Rose has what she needs for making Birch tree deer.

It's the Big pumpkin festival in Goffstown this past weekend!

The yearly Ladybug Invasion has started!

Rose cleaned up the Harry Lauder's walking stick bed on Monday, it's a cool bush!

The Phoebe's and Bluebirds are still here.

4 Deer came in for a snack on Tuesday night

Saturday evening a Fox came through the deer yard

Rose's newest creations are using some of the Harry Lauder's Walking stick to hang some spoon rests and mini teapots.

I was up at 3:30AM this morning, it's coolish, around 50 degrees, Rose was up at 5AM, we were out of the house by 7:50Am and it was already a chilly 41 degrees we're hoping to get out early this morning for breakfast at Sawyer's Main Street Breakfast & Function Hall before the place is swamped, then hit St. Matt's flea market.

I drove low by the pond and looks like despite the rains we've been having the water levels are down a good 3-4 feet, so we're still hoping for more so we don't have any well issues.

I've got 5 trailer loads of debris from the Rose circle that Rose cleared out to pick up and transport down to the pond.

Thought this was funny...

Rose was cruising this afternoon, brought the birch trees we'd cut down to the barn, she'd grabbed a dozen of the cinder blocks for the sand barrels

We brought all the lawn sculptures down to the barn

Sunday AM it was 27 degrees when I got up, Yup we got a our first HARD Frost!quickly fired up the Pellet stove, it was 66 degrees in the kitchen, brr.

We're trimming the wild rose that climbs the telephone pole at the driveway, it'll snag your hat right off your head when you walk by if I don't.

Digging holes for the solar array posts today, should be fun hopefully not too many rocks.  After finishing the 4 holes for the array uprights, I pulled the 12' 4"x4: post with the martin house on it out of the ground and dug a new hole at the side yard where Rose thought it'd look better.  We'll pick up 4 bags of concrete this week and cement all the poles in before the ground freezes up.

We'll cut up some of the birch we harvested and give a go at making some Birch deer.  Rose saved some branches for the antlers too.

Three deer, a fox and a raccoon are coming through the deer yard almost daily now.

I changed all the deer cam batteries

Rose finished clearing the Lilac bed down by the driveway, we did some leaf raking, Rose on the leaf blower me on the rake, grabbed the 12x20' tarp, raking the leaves onto it and then dragging the tarp down by the pond with the tractor.  Yard looks a lot better now with most of the leaves gone.

Bullet is off to the Vet Thursday Oct 22nd in the morning to get neutered, he'll be coming back with a cone of shame. He did well with the surgery, he was slightly drunk when we picked him up, he did a lot better than we thought he would maneuvering with the cone on his head.

He really doesn't seem to mind the cone
Bullet lives for balls!  That cone's not gonna stop him!

All the leaves are almost off the maple trees, we'll have to go back and haul the remaining leaves down by the pond.

This weekend we'll concrete the upright poles for the solar array then we'll mount the panels.  The array will charge the (2) 280AH 12V batteries that with the inverter will keep the furnace/pellet stove, a few lights, fridges and freezers cold for at least 2 days without solar or a 110V charger charging the batteries for when the snow/ice storms hit, and for when when oil, gas and propane cost too much.

Friday Oct 23rd Bullet doesn't seem to mind the cone at all, he ate all of his breakfast, he's pretty much back to his normal self, we'll have to keep him fairly calm , he's on meds for inflammation and pain but overall doing very well.  He's great at getting his cone on, surprisingly he'll walk right into it when asked.

We still have a few things to do outside yet before the snow flies... we'll leave a couple of the chairs out for a few more days at least!

It was nice out Friday night, I walked down to the blueberry bush in the field and found the small solar panel that runs the light we'd put on the bush face down in the grass explaining why the string of lights wasn't working.

Damned cold on Saturday morning 27 degrees.

Saturday Oct 24th we planned to set the posts for the Solar array in concrete, I put together the four triangular struts that would angle the panels towards the sun and drilled the mounting holes at the top, I didn't get to set the posts.  We'll continue on Sunday.

I kicked the furnace on for the first time this yer to chase the chill out of the house, it was 62 inside this morning.

Sunday we set the four solar array upright poles and set the Martin house pole in concrete while we were at it.  I think we'll need 2 more bags of cement to fill the holes completely.

Wednesday I'm dropping my car at the shop, need an oil change and have a slow leak in one of the tires.

We drove by the pond (Same level as my well) and it's looking really low again.  We'll have to be careful with water usage, no more rain in the forecast until November 2nd.

CNN’s Fareed Zakaria Admits Democrat Run Blue Cities Have America’s Worst Homeless Crises

Notice anything about the bottom five state governors? Every single one is a Democrat. And seven of the bottom ten are, too. Meanwhile, Republicans dominate the top 10 best governors list:

"All Americans will now be able to go to the fraud.gov and report cases of corruption and theft of taxpayer dollars in their communities... If you turn somebody in and you let's say report and find $1 billion, we are giving a commission to that person of 1%. That's a lot of money."

Great news on Affordability front - prescription drugs just took the BIGGEST MONTHLY DECLINE EVER and are down year over year by over 4%.  In July there was a 3% decline but last month's 4% decline beats that! Keep in mind that this is not just slower inflation for drug prices. It’s actual deflation. September’s prescription-drug reading means prices were actually lower than a year earlier. The broader medicinal-drugs category, including nonprescription medicines, was down 3.4 percent, also a record annual decline.

Trump promised to make medicine cheaper. He pursued a series of agreements intended to accomplish that. Americans are now seeing the sharpest annual decline in prescription drug prices the government has ever recorded.
