It's a get it done before the snow flies weekend. Sunday Rose and I got all the gravel (5 total trailer loads) moved from the driveway using it to repair the washout at the end of the driveway, we filled Zeb's big hole that he re-digs to sit in every year. Of course one of the trailer tires was apparently low on air and I rolled a tire off the rim, thankfully we have a second trailer and I was able to use it to finish the job. I'll have to get the compressor started to get the tire back on the rim. 

Damn it was hot and humid in the sun. 

I was just about to grab a shower and Jason showed up. I went out to the run-in shed and grabbed the chain saw, tightened the chain, gassed and added bar oil. Jason and I cut the tree up that fell in the front yard and hauled it out on the trailer to the burn pile. On the backside of the burn pile there were two more trees we dropped there in the spring.  I cut those into chunks and Jason made fast work of throwing them onto the burn pile too!  Cutting those two reminded me I need to sharpen the chain on the saw. It's so great having help here on the farm, Jason's a great worker.  We went to Ollie's for an early dinner. It was a good day!

Rose and I took a trip over to the Home Depot in MHT to pick up some lumber for a project she's working on.  We got it all cut up later once it cooled off on Monday  evening.

Federal Judge Rules Against FDA For Anti-Ivermectin Messaging.  During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, anyone who promoted Ivermectin was considered a conspiracy theorist and was condemned by the FDA but now a Federal court has ruled the FDA overstepped its authority when it told Americans to not use Ivermectin to fight against COVID-19.

U.S. Circuit Judge Don Willett ruled “FDA can inform, but it has identified no authority allowing it to recommend consumers ‘stop’ taking medicine.”

In one social media post, the FDA posted “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”

In another post, the FDA linked to an article titled “Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19.” 

I fully expect a new “planned-demic” will show up just in time for the 2024 election.

Oh they might not call it “COVID” again and probably they won’t. But I fully expect a new one to hit. 

The review found that "wearing a mask may make little to no difference in how many people caught a flu-like illness/COVID-like illness (nine studies; 276,917 people); and probably makes little or no difference in how many people have flu/COVID confirmed by a laboratory test (six studies; 13,919 people)."

I think if people want to wear masks, let them.  They have access to the same studies as everyone else does.  It seems that the continued boosters are not going through rigorous human trials as does every other drug.  I took the initial two jabs.  Will I take a booster?  No, unless it can be proven that they are first and foremost safe, then effective.  Again, I think if you feel comfortable taking it, by all means do.  The government continues to blow its credibility.

We played 18 holes of Mini Golf, they have a great course there to play, down into the mine we went. James only lost his golf ball 3 times... Rose won the Put-Put game easily, lots of Par2 holes she easily made.  Rose and the boys all got a Kimball's special I helped Rose eat hers.

Rare 'Blue Supermoon' to rise on Wednesday this week, won't return until 2037.  The coming full moon will be the brightest and the largest of 2023.

Well, not as impressive as I'd hoped, yes, it was a moon, but nothing like some of the super-moons of the past.

I took Rose's beloved/favorite Hoover Windtunnel vacuum cleaner apart, it wasn't sucking up anything, after a lot of disassembly with no culprit found and a pile of parts, it's over, time for a new vac.  She's sad.

Work's been crazy over the past month a lot of folks finding jobs elsewhere, new plant manager, new materials manager, test manager and HR manager left too.  This creates a lot of work for us IT folks.  Coworkers always seem to be more like replacements in combat units, don't get to know them too much cause they leave so fast anyway.

Tuesday was a long day, work had two automated production lines down, we're still not sure why, by 8:30ish we had them back on line. 

Rose's new vacuum came in, I got it all assembled for her.  Seems to work well, time will tell if it's as good as her trusted Hoover that died.

Rose called me into the dining room, look at that on the Martin house out back, it was a nice sized Red-Tailed Hawk scoping out the field, it was intently looking for something to eat.

Rose hemmed and hung new curtains in the bedroom.

Thursday morning out with the dogs, nice and cool, light breeze, feeling like fall.

 

We're taking James & Jason over to Kimball's farm ice cream stand over in Westford, MA. on Friday, it should be a lot of fun.  Rose has been going there since she was a kid, so we need to go at least once a year for a Kimball's Special ice cream sundae it's huge, like 9 scoops of ice cream plus all the fixings. I usually opt for the fisherman's platter of seafood, we've been taking the boys for years we'll see if they can finish a Kimball's special this year.

• Mail-in voting procedures being widely implemented because of "COVID concerns," but there were no verifiable chain-of-custody procedures in place and no mechanism to confirm voter signature authenticity.  No possibility of fraud there.
• Voting machines proven to be connected to the internet, despite vehement protests to the contrary.  No possibility of fraud there.

How can any reasonably intelligent person not question these things?  You may still believe that the 2020 election results were valid, but simply raising logical questions does not make someone a criminal.
