Happy St. Paddy's day!

Is it spring yet?

Jarrod, Crystal and the boys came down today for a St. Patrick's day corned beef & cabbage dinner, Rose did a great job with the meal!

Jarrod and I got to spend some time in the workshop today helping James and Jason with their birdhouse project for Boy Scouts.

James and Jason learned to use a tape measure, a speed square, drill press with help... a hammer and nails. Jason really took to using a hammer. It was cold in the shop but we managed to get through it. Jarrod is bringing the birdhouses home to paint.  I'll post a pic when they're done.

Oh and it's that time again, The Pinewood Derby... The boys made these cars. Jason the Green and James the red one.  Nice job guys.

Happy Birthday James and Jason!

James and Jason had another Birthday Today!  Eight Years old Yes "8"

Had a party at Jarrod's house.

Boys got Snowshoes, took them for a romp around the yard, not as easy as it looks I should
a taken more pictures.  Maybe during school vacation I'll take some more pictures of all of us out on the snowshoes falling down... Rose got a pair for xmas too, so we're all ready for the snow.

 Beautiful sunrise morning Saturday
James and Jason, 16 candles, 8 for each of them...
Just in case Mom & Dad forget how awesome Snow can be (if you think of anything let me know.)
The Deer yard, it may be to deep for them now...  It's been two days since the herd has stopped by for dinner.
That is the Honda under that pile, the snowbanks are getting tall around here.

Stay warm...

Kale Soup (Mrs. Searle's Recipe)

Two degrees...  (2 degrees) Jeez it's cold outside.
Kale Soup (Mrs. Searle's Recipe), we made up a considerable batch today. Ok, Rose did..., I chopped the onions though...  The soup is one of our best batches to date.

I'm getting old, I was only able to polish off two bowls myself tonite for dinner.

The soup pot is out in the backyard cooling off. This seems to be the hardest part of putting soups, chili's and the like up is the time it takes to cool it down so you can bag it for the freezer.  We'll probably get 10-12 quarts out of what's left after dinner.  We got some real nice beef shanks at Market basket for the Kale soup, they cut them up for us and put out a tray for us to pick from.

Stay warm out there!
