September 2025

9-11 We will never forget! 24 years ago

Rose and I put up the splash board along the bottom of the walls on the North side of the shop Sunday, Rose then finished caulking along the top edge getting ready for paint.

46 degrees Monday AM,  Hummingbirds are still hanging around.

Doe and her two fawns still sporting spots came in early on Thursday

The geese are gathering in the fields now.

I heard a couple of the coyotes last night yipping in the field behind the house.

45 degrees this morning! Brr

We've had a couple of does and the twins coming in earlier in the evenings, the twins are still sporting their spots, we think they're adjusting their visit times because of the coyotes.

We're still feeding the hummingbirds, Rose says they'll be her another week or two.

The berries are all off the black cherry trees by the house.

Rose and I walked out to feed the deer, we stopped by the blackberry bed, I noticed that it appeared something dug into the yellow-jacket nest, I didn't see any bees. That would be great!  Time will tell.

We were checking out the amazing job Rose did on the shop Thursday, she'd put up new shutters and flower boxes on the windows, it really looks great! We walked to the house facing side of the shop, that is next on the agenda.

Winston is still interested in the woodchuck in the field chasing him off when he sees him.

The road side of the shop now looks great painted.  WE're glad to be done with this side
Rose put the finishing touches on the shop, adding shutters, and flower boxes below the windows.  The building almost looks like new!

Rose was out with the dogs Wednesday night, she heard something growl down at the Apple tree behind the house, she got both the dogs in quickly, Zeb came in and sat by the kitchen window staring out into the darkness outside, knowing the coyotes were there.

James offered to give us a hand next Wednesday, he'd be a great help, he an I will work on the Fascia and soffits while rose preps and paints.

We've picked 15 tomatoes so far off the tomato plant in the back yard, lets just say that little $5.00 plant has more than paid for itself as we've not had to purchase any tomatoes at all since it started producing the nice 1-2lb. fruits. There's another 10 or so blushing still waiting to be picked.  We're already talking about the coming frosts and picking all remaining green tomatoes setting them on the windowsill to ripen if the frost threatens.

The geese are gathering in the fields in town.

Friday, we haven't seen the hummingbirds today, maybe they've gone...

Seems strange, already seeing a lot of folks with carved pumpkins out on porches and roofs on September 12th

We went out for Chinese on Friday Rose saw a Bald Eagle flying over Villa Augustina in town.

Starlings!

Rose and I worked on the shop again, we tore off the old fascia boards, replaced them, and then replaced the soffit boards.

SKUNK!  3:00AM I opened the back door, smelling to see if I smelled a skunk, I didn't, I made the mistake and let the dogs out, not a minute later I smelled it.  A skunk! The dogs had both been sprayed! I went to the back door and the smell was BAD! So, so bad!  The house reeked, the dogs reeked, we'd have to wait until the sun came up for some light.   We'd purchase some skunk-off years ago when we (the dogs) last encountered a skunk, I think we'd forgotten just how bad the smell really was...  The whole house stunk!  We washed the dogs, all the carpets, dog beds, towels used to dry the dogs ans their blankets downstairs.

I took Wednesday off, we worked on the shop side facing the house, taking the fascia boards down I managed to get stung by a wasp, itches a lot, not as painful as I'd have thought.  We took off the flashing along the bottom of the wall.

Rose has seen 2 Bald Eagles this week, another one flew of the house Wednesday.

James came over Wednesday evening to help us tear of a roof overhang between the barn and shop it really didn't want to come down, I was slamming it with a sledge hammer, ended up taking a saws-all and cutting down the middle, James climbed up and found what was hanging it up and it came crashing down shortly thereafter.  No-one got hurt! James was a huge help!  He stayed for dinner and a brownie Sunday Rose made up.

Were heating the house in the mornings now, I still need to clean out the pellet stove for this heating season.

Many Eastern states face worsening drought as rainfall remains scarce, stressing agriculture, waterways and fall foliage.   We've been cutting back on water usage, the pond (a good indicator of the well water) it really low so we're concerned.

Hummingbirds have migrated south now, still seeing a bluebird, and the Phoebe is still here.

Coyotes are still coming through, fox, and raccoons too.

Monday we blanched up a bunch of tomatoes for chili or spaghetti sauce this winter.

The doe with the twins (no longer spotted) and another doe showed up Last night.  The twins mom is still reddish brown, while the twins and the other doe are now grey in color.

We finished the bulk of the house side of the shop, flashing, soffits and fascia all replaced, it looks great.  Rose has commenced with painting the upper soffits and battens and put a coat of Bordeau stain on the door, it looks cool with the newly painted side door against the older wall. We put the glass in the side window frame, we'll put it in Friday.

We are getting wood pellets on Friday, of course its supposed to rain 2-3 days this week, I don't want to sound bitter but the timing ain't great, we're trying to get finished with the shop but getting pellets up near the house with a fork truck on soggy ground is not ideal. We need the rain BAD as we're in a moderate+ drought and are worried about the well.

Our next door neighbor texted Rose Monday evening that she saw a medium sized bobcat cross the road down towards our pond.

Ran into a couple of toads out on our last evening walk around the house checking to make sure there are no skunks around so the dogs can go out one last time for the evening. A very confused peeper, was peeping away at 8:30pm.

Scott Adams, the creator of the famous ‘Dilbert’ comic strip, talked about the murder of Charlie Kirk during his ‘Coffee With Scott Adams’ podcast today and suggested that the Democrat party has to be ‘totally dismantled.’

What we witnessed instead was a demonstration of insensitivity, subtle approvals, outright laughter, and conspiracy-mongering that exposed (again) the deep rot in the Democrat party. From MSNBC’s victim-blaming rants, to BBC reporters chuckling on air, the response was nothing short of shameful—a stark reminder of why trust in mainstream media has plummeted to historic lows. As the manhunt for the killer unfolds, let’s dismantle this hoax of “balanced” coverage with the cold, hard facts of their most egregious moments.

A suspect in Charlie Kirk’s assassination was turned in by his father, according to President Donald Trump, and according to reports, it was Tyler Robinson, 22, of Utah.

Amazing how the left is coming out of the woodwork to try to deflect from their own culpability. All these Dems coming out as pious angels, as if their rhetoric had nothing to do with the murder. The public knows better.

Their whole side is the fringe people, they only put on nice personas when it suits them - this is the reality of so-called lizard people, witness Tim Walz saying he was praying for Charlie after wishing Trump dead just a week ago. Witness the same race people in that light rail car in Carolina just watching a slaughter, just following orders I suppose.

The Dems are actually giddy. Their dehumanizing rhetoric of mainstream conservatives must end. Using terms like fascism and Nazi was to fire up their base and people believe it and since it’s considered fascism they justify their violence. The media and democrats are all responsible. You can hate someone but you can’t be saying they are fascist or racist or Nazi when it’s not true. It’s evil what they are doing, yes evil

A final word from Kirk himself, again just days ago: “No civilization has ever collapsed because it prays too much. But a civilization that abandons God will deteriorate and ultimately collapse from the inside out, or because it loses the will to repel a malicious, external force.”

I hope I’m wrong. But tonight feels like some sort of invisible line has been crossed that we didn’t even know was there.

The last time I felt like this was 9/11 when it was clear, without knowing the how and the what, that the world was about to change forever. Like the rules of the game had been permanently altered and there was simply no going to back to the innocent, peaceful past.

It’s just lip service from the Dems. That is all…. Nothing more..  nothing less.

Another huge BLS scandal has emerged amid the largest downward revision to employment in US history.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) far fewer jobs were created between April 2024 and March 2025 in the latest jobs revision.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were cooking the books the whole time and lying to the American people.

Trump has an incredible amount of irons in the fire to bring the economy back from the devastation caused by the Biden administration. From illegal immigrants taking American jobs to releasing the stranglehold of regulations on companies to getting those tax cuts for everyday Americans to getting better deals across the globe to help America to using tariffs to reduce the deficit and bring businesses back on American soil — the list goes on. It took Ronald Reagan four years to turn the failing Carter economy around. Here’s hoping Donald Trump can turn things around sooner rather than later.

The Democratic Party has this affinity for the criminally insane because the party as a whole is insane. It peddles insane policies and ideas, such as cashless bail and de-funding the police. It can’t tell the truth about anything. For instance, that black people account for 37-percent of violent felonies committed in the USA, according the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting, though they comprise about 13-percent of the population. And that only includes the “solved” cases, for which the “clearance rate” is a low 50- 60-percent of violent crimes — that is, more than half of violent crimes discovered go unsolved.

Every single Democrat accusation is a confession.

Democrats in Congress, along with the left-wing media, are desperately trying to trick Americans into believing that a disarmed public is a safer one. They want society to view firearms not as a means of protection but as a liability.

In all fairness to Democrats, their policies have made this situation so common that it may well have disappeared into the din. A violent lunatic with fourteen previous arrests under his belt but who still freely roamed the streets randomly and viciously stabbed a young woman on the train, killing her. The murder occurred over two weeks ago, and they had every reason to believe the “local crime story” was as dead as the beautiful young victim.

But then, the video emerged. It’s chilling and terrifying, the horror that every urban female (and plenty of males) fears. The still image of the moment the madman’s knife begins its descent is the most damning optic I’ve seen in years, and it will now become the face of the modern Democrat party.

Because in the end, Democrats champion mental illness, crime, and the breakdown of civil order; they champion evil. Republicans fight it. Period.
It's over, Democrats. Begone with you.

BREAKING: Huge BLS Scandal Emerges Amid Largest Downward Revision to Employment in History – Virtually No Job Creation in Last Year of Biden Admin – Millions of Jobs Vanish

Democrats thrive on portraying blacks in America as victims who can’t survive or prosper without their help. Because most who notice such patterns in society are cowed into not talking about it for fear of being called racists. And because the media don’t want people to know: The reality is that black on white crime is merely the bleeding edge of America’s justice system catastrophe, which sees criminals handled with kid gloves and victims as an afterthought. For every white victim of a black criminal, there are many more black criminals.

For the first time in a long time, a U.S. president has called the big drug traffickers what they really are: terrorists. They may not fit the usual mold, but the distinction is trivial. Some terrorists kill with knives, like the Islamists. Others kill with bombs, like the swine of Hamas. And still others kill slowly, through the ugliest kind of drug trafficking — destroying the lives of thousands across the West, wrecking families, wrecking communities, and, though less important, overloading social services and healthcare systems. That’s the handiwork of narco-terrorists, who also don’t hesitate to snuff out innocent lives whenever it suits their disgusting business, spreading violence and insecurity everywhere.

THE END!
