Mowing and Weedin'
Busy day Saturday, Rose and I got the mosquito netting on the cabana, we hooked up the vent for the A/C unit in the bedroom.
We finally found batteries for a couple of Roses wrist watches. I replaced them both, and they both worked! Surprised me too...
We went food shopping at 8PM last Saturday night, good time to go!
Sunday we're doing more mowing today, Rose with the DR weed-whacker, and me on the tractor finished up the back corner, the deer yard and the hose line. We're trying to keep the field down so we don't have to worry as much with Fireworks setting the field on fire in June and July 4th.
Rose and I weeded the 3 perennial beds up front, she's much better at identifying whats weed and whats a tender new perennial, I helped.
We're headed to Hillsborough Sunday to help Jarrod with a sticking door, we'll see if we can figure out what's going on with it, we got it taken care of pretty quickly between the two of us. Jarrod has a new gas griddle, he made some amazing fajitas for dinner, beef, chicken, sausage, mushrooms yum!
The bears came back Monday morning before 5 AM Zebulon our German Shepherd was all upset, scratching at the bedroom door, whining and generally refusing to settle down.
Rose was weed-wacking again today, I mowed for an hour or so before dark. It still boggles my mind how fast everything grows around here. We need a cow, maybe a few sheep, and a goat I think.
Jason stopped by on Monday, he and a friend rode their bikes the 18 miles from Hillsborough to our house!
Monday afternoon Winston found and tried to eat a "Bad Buggie" the bee stung him good and his face swelled up, off to the vet he went. The vet gave him a shot of Benedryl and some prednisone. He looked rough, his snout was swollen, but didn't appear phased from the sting. It's going to be a rough summer if he doesn't learn this tough lesson.
Tuesday evening we're getting some weather, winds, rain and 1/2" hail, and some lightning for good measure.
Wednesday it's supposed to be 92 degrees!

Thursday morning the bears came in at 4AM this morning Zebulon was all upset scratching at the bedroom door.
Jarrod stopped by Thursday evening, he's working a side gig for the town of Hillsborough now as a DJ for events, and dances.
The Purple Wisteria is blooming on the top of the telephone pole in the driveway, the most blooms we've ever had. That's a huge wild Rose below the blooms.
The yard smells amazing as you walk around, Russian Olive, Honeysuckle and various Lilacs, the smells seem to change daily this time of year, it's a shame it's short lived.

The Maple tree seeds, (Helicopters) are falling by the thousands today, a year or so ago Rose raked up an entire wheelbarrow full of them.
