A ton of Raspberries

A Ton of Raspberries

Rose and I put up our American Flag, our old one was tattered, it's up on the corner of the barn for the 4th of July, then off to feed the deer. Damn did I mention it's hot out, it says 84 on the thermometer but work outside for a bit and you'll see the humidity gets ya pretty quick.

We heard all the fireworks on the 4th, we didn't go to see any, New Boston put on quite a show it went on for about 50 minutes.

We're off to Mom & Dads on Sunday to drop off some lunches and a few dinners, and then hit the feed store for dog food and deer blocks.  Mom called, dad said make it one day next week, so that's what we'll do.

Here's another amazing AI generated short called Pasta Dancers pretty cool...

We went over to one of Jarrod's longtime friend on Saturday after the 4th, it was hot, it rained several times, not bad though, we all had a blast, Jarrod brought an easy up, pop up shelter to sit under for when it did rain, great food and a great fireworks show!

Blueberries are starting to ripen up if the birds'll leave any for us. It's not looking good, the birds are in and out of the bushes all day long.  We netted the bushes one year, what a pain to get it back off at the end of the season though.

Monday: Raspberry picking Monday evening once the sun goes down.  91 degrees in the shade.  I went out by myself feed the deer and noticed a bunch of ripe Raspberries beside the pig panel in the field, I picked at least a quart of the berries, the mosquitoes stayed away, those berry plants are happy, happy where they are, a lot of double berries too. I'd brought the can of bug spray just in case but didn't end up needing it!

The chipmunks have eaten all of our strawberries in the back yard, little buggers.

I picked another Pint or two of the Raspberries Tuesday night they're still producing like crazy.

Got over to Mom & Dads dropped off some food, helped dad get his new cell working, he's going to call tomorrow to see if he can transfer his old number to it.  Needs account number and Pin for the old account to do the transfer.

I picked another quart of Raspberries Thursday evening after work, still no mosquitos out.  Knock on wood...

It'll be in the 90s for the next 5 days

As of Saturday the Blackberries still have a couple more weeks before they are ripe.

Jarrod's got some plumbing issues, I'll head over this afternoon to see if I can help.  Jarrod and I were able to get the drain replaced, and the sink drain in.  We were off to the Hillsborough Fair for Tacos and sausage subs, YUM!

Sunday we fed the deer, picked another quart of Raspberries, easily over a gallon now, we checked the blackberries, they are starting to redden probably start picking those next week.

Tuesday evening we got a thunderstorm, the skies went YELLOW, never saw that before, they were yellow for a good 1/2 hour, this pic is looking out the front door.

Three deer stood out in the rains, thunder and lightning during the storm.

Quite the rack!

Couple of nice racks
Through all the years that we've been here the bucks were never out in the daytime.  Now they're out nightly

We ordered our 3 tons of wood pellets Saturday, one more thing off the list.  Oil prices at $3.49 per gallon, right about the same as gas prices here, it was slightly lower than last year, we purchased our yearly allotment.

I mowed the lawn and the deer yard while Rose went food shopping Saturday afternoon.

Put a new deer block out today they are lasting a couple weeks, the meal worms for the birds are lasting a month.

BIDEN IS OUT!

Steps aside (Stands down!) and endorses Kamala Harris!

As the sun sets on “Joe Biden’s” career, what’s left of his campaign runs an ad in which he promises “to finish the job.” Sounds kind of sinister now, doesn’t it, like something a crime boss might tell his caporegimes? And for sure the country is suffering from this three-year-plus reign-of-terror against common sense and common decency. The wreckage is everywhere, all over this land. “Defending our Democracy,” my ass.

SAVE ACT  - The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act passed on Wednesday by a vote of 221 to 198.   In total, 216 Republicans and five Democrats voted to pass the bill, while 198 Democrats voted against the measure.  Imagine that Dems didn't like it.  WTF?

Targeting farmers with a livestock carbon tax is not really about climate change. It’s about increasing the monetary flow to the government so bureaucrats can exert ever more control over the populace. This is why the concept of a carbon tax is so popular with leftists in the U.S. They can claim it is needed to “fight climate change,” but the truth is just another opportunity for the government to shakedown another industry, painted with an altruistic veneer.

The Biden administration claims that unemployment is at the lowest level in fifty years. However, the unemployment rate is currently 4.1%, which is higher than during most of the Trump administration.

During the first three years of Trump’s administration, the unemployment rate averaged around 3.9% in 2018, 3.7% in 2019, and 3.5% in early 2020 before the pandemic struck.

 Inflation, what inflation...  Right!

This election revolves around issues of trust.  Forget all other factors confronting Democrats — Kamala, the economy, or border crisis.  The election was decided on June 27.  Not only was the emperor naked, his party and media enablers were exposed before the cameras.  The debate aftermath only magnifies their predicament.  Fool us once, shame on you.  Neither voters or media consumers will forget.

Bidenomics: US Economic Misery Index Rose Significantly During Biden Years

If you think Joe Biden was actually elected, just remember, these were the election results before we went to sleep on November 3rd, 2020. Democrats stopped counting and pulled mail-in ballots out of nowhere to give Biden the election

The incidence and severity of storms, hurricanes, floods, and extreme weather in general have undergone flat to declining trends over the last several decades. Thus, “it is hard to find any unusual weather or weather-related disaster that can be blamed on climate change, whether natural or anthropogenic.”

52 of 53 studies of disaster losses due to extreme weather were unable to attribute the events to human causes…

Former CDC Director Says FDA Underreported Adverse Side Effects of COVID Injections to Prevent Vaccine Hesitancy

The US government estimates the warming since 1950 has reduced the country’s gross domestic product by less than 0.5%, and an estimated 3°C of warming by 2100 still only reduces the GDP by less than 1%. Considering the US economy grew by 800% from 1950 to present, this means any assumed “damage” from warmth and elevated CO2 would not be detectable.

The quest to “save” the world from warming and elevated CO2 is devoid of scientific and socio-economic merit.

Okay, maybe we lied about Biden’s health. And Russian collusion. And Covid. And Hunter’s Laptop. And January 6th. And Ukraine. And Epstein. And Hollywood. And everything in between… But trust us when we tell you Trump is a threat to our democracy!”

They Won’t Stop, Rules Be Damned! They’re Running Out of Ideas to Stop Trump

Who's really in charge: "They've mismanaged all the big things, the things that matter, the economy or foreign policy and they've destroyed the family too...group I'm highly familiar with that have wrecked everything but are still currently in charge...it's a struggle between classes of people...and who should be running the country. Should it be the people, this leadership class which really is the product of a quite elaborate grooming system that's come up over the last century, but really accelerated post war, past 80 years, or like the rest of the people who live here, should they have the voice too. Should they have any power. But that's who's running it. It's quite a large group actually...Now I find it completely repulsive and immoral and really disgusting actually...The reason that it's so hard to really pinpoint who's making the decisions is because it's quite large and diffuse. It's an entire class of people with similar instincts and similar vested interests in things. And they unfortunately just have an awful lot of power. And they control the monopolies that define our economy."

The Huffington Post reported:

The cover story — titled “Why Biden Must Withdraw” — described Biden’s first presidential debate performance as “awful” and “agony to watch.”

But the “cover-up has been worse,” it continued, slamming the Biden campaign’s contempt-provoking bid to “deny what tens of millions of Americans saw with their own eyes.”

It’s right that Democrats “have begun to call openly for him to step aside,” the essay said. Biden and presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump “offer a choice between the incapable and the unspeakable. Americans deserve better,” it added.

Dictator Trump would crush you under his Fascist thumb.

No such thing happened under Trump, quite the opposite. But politics is marketing (and a few other things), and Democrats and then Team Biden convinced some people of something until he stumbled his way into the Oval Office. After which, the economy, jobs, inflation, and Middle East Peace all went to sh**!

The border is such a mess that even Democrats are pissed and put out, and we’ve been watching the proxy war in Ukraine escalate us as close to WWIII as we’ve come since (perhaps) the Cuban Missile Crisis. Peace was an option, and they scuttled it and then sent obscene amounts of US wealth (plus debt) to fund more war. Iran? Isreal?

And it is safe to say “divisiveness” is at a record high.

Everything they accused their opponents of they are doing, or plan to do (true to form).

If you missed it, they are recycling that same fear as we approach November 2024 (and getting high on their own narrative supply) despite four years of none of that under Trump and three years of a lot of it under Biden.

Bidenomics: 27% of Americans Say They Skip Meals Due to Rising Cost of Food

The Fourth of July cookout this year, for instance, reached a record high in cost – up 30% from five years ago under Trump. The root cause of soaring grocery prices is not the retailers, but rather the consequences of Biden’s own failed economic policies.

Under Biden, prices have risen by 20.1 percent, while real wages remain lower than when Biden first took office.

Groceries are up 21.2 percent, rent is up 21.2 percent, and electricity is up 29 percent since Biden took office. Grocery stores have the lowest profit in all of industry: only about 3.5% The High prices come from shipping (gas: Joe’s fault) Wholesalers wages (Joe’s fault) Heavy regulation of farmer’s (Joe’s fault) and increased costs of importing.

The average family has lost $25,920 paying for the increased cost of living under Biden according to the Joint Economic Committee.
21 percent of Americans have no savings, while 37 percent cannot afford a $400 emergency expense.
Household debt is at a record $17.69 trillion while credit debt has exceeded $1 trillion.

Last month, the nation’s home buyers needed to make about $107,000 annually, up from about $74,000 a year earlier, to afford a median-priced home, according to Redfin. That’s an increase of nearly 46%.

If you’re surprised and perplexed that totalitarian tyranny is creeping across our country with no pushback, the reason is simple: there is none. The party that lusts to punish its inhabitants for the pleasure of watching them suffer while stealing what they’ve worked for and foreclosing their future appears to be close to capturing government. This is opposed by at least half of the country. Where can they find a party that represents them?

A Republican Party would have stood up to curb the horrible excesses of a Democratic Party focused on destroying everything that has allowed people to thrive in this land: property law, economic liberty, free speech, and now even your physical health.

Kissinger's quote from a speech to the WHO Eugenics Council on February 25, 2009: "Once the herd accepts mandatory vaccinations, it's game over. They will accept anything - forced blood or organ donation - 'for the common good.' We can genetically modify children and sterilize them - 'for the common good'...." Vaccine manufacturers will make billions. And many of you in this room are future investors. It's a big win-win. We exterminate the herd, and the herd pays us for our extermination services."
