CHRISTMAS IS HERE!

It's Wednesday morning, my solar battery bank is up to to 99% charged! The panels are 100% covered in snow so it's unlikely I'll get the batteries up to 100% today.

Wednesday I snow blowed and shoveled, we needed the path to our oil fill up pipe clear for the oil guy who's coming today. Rose and I fed the deer, and put bird seed out for the ground feeders. (The deer seem to like the bird seed too.)

I brushed off the solar panels, surprisingly they're charging the batteries now, 12 Amps, 84 Watts. We'll be at 100% today for sure!

Rose and I were over Jarrod & Crystal's for Christmas day, Jarrod cooked up some crab cakes, and shrimp wrapped in bacon, for appetizers. He cooked a strip roast, potatoes and carrots and broccoli in a cheese sauce and his signature mushroom gravy. Great Christmas!

Friday morning we had a gang of Cardinals in the willows.

We woke to 2 & 1/2" inches of snow Saturday morning

Saturday morning we're cutting up a beef strip roast that Jarrod gave, we'll cut into nice steaks today and freeze them.

Sunday, we've got a storm coming in for early Monday morning, 3-5" of snow and 1/4-1/2" of ice on top of that, moderate impact storm we'll probably lose power. Batteries are charged and ready, Generator cord is up from the basement. Rose has water jugs filled. We're prepared, and we're ready!

Monday we didn't get any snow but we did get a bit of ice, 1-2" of slush everywhere

Tuesday 11pm and we did not lose power overnight, all that slush we got Monday has turned the driveway, yard and deer yard into skating rinks, we'll have to get sand put down. High wind warnings went out earlier in the evening 50MPH gusts possible, 3AM the winds we're howling. or this morning (knocking on wood)

Rose saw a pair of Bobcats cross over the road into our yard down by the barn, I grabbed the camera in case they came back behind the house. Hopefully we'll get them on camera soon enough.

I sanded the skating rink that was the yard paths, Rose got the mail and fed the deer, she was wearing cleats.

New Years Eve 2025

Rose and I both made it to the end of 2025! So there's that!

It was our Anniversary on Wednesday, Rose cooked up an awesome roast chicken dinner, rolls, and sausage stuffing for dinner on New Years Eve. We watched the fireworks from around the world on TV, Dubai Burj Khalifa fireworks display had the world beat, amazing!

Wednesday morning I heard a good portion of the second floor at work is out sick, ugh, they're disinfecting the building and wiping down every surface to see if they can get ahead of this latest malady.

So far, Rose and I have managed to stay healthy through the holidays. Hope you are as well!

Thursday the wind was brutal when I went to feed the deer and birds out in the deer yard Brrr.

Friday after New Years Day I'll go (wearing my krampons) to sand the driveway, probable better off wearing ice skates, it's that bad!

Minnesota SOMALI FRAUD

Days after Nick Shirley’s video came out, two things happened. On the one hand, a bunch of kids were brought to the center Shirley found empty, to prove that it was, in fact, actively in use, so the press could cover it as a totally normal day care. Around the same time, a state agency claimed that that location had already shut down, so the press could cover it as a problem that has been long solved, silly gooses. The agency then said the center had “decided to remain open.” So it’s not a problem—but if it were, it’s been solved. One Minneapolis day care has now claimed that an unknown criminal broke in this week and stole paperwork documenting enrollment and employee information. I, for one, hate when that happens to my day care that’s being investigated.

The fellow in charge, for instance, was one Tim Walz, recently a candidate for Veep, if you can believe it. He seemed oblivious to the scam-o-rama going on, though the “Little Mogadishu” neighborhood in Minneapolis is only a couple of miles from the governor’s mansion across the Mississippi River in St. Paul. You must wonder: does he know any of these people? Does he consort with their representative in Congress, Ms. Ilhan Omar who, just this year happened to come into a $30-million fortune. (Did Nancy Pelosi tutor Rep. Omar on stock-picking?)

Today, “trust the science” sounds less like an invitation to think and more like an order to comply. Pharmaceutical giants bankroll the research. Governments repeat the approved conclusions. And when ordinary people ask uncomfortable questions, they’re told to sit down, shut up, and stop spreading “misinformation.” All while the same officials preaching sacrifice are caught sipping cocktails at lockdown parties.
